The viewers dropped, but the demo is up from its usual 4.0ish. Plus, the show didnt start til 10:30 and end around 11:30. If the game would of ended sooner, I bet the numbers would of been better. Anyways, I thought last nights episode was one of the better ones.
It was convoluted, illogical and did not make a whole lot of sense.
It seems like you are always bashing The Mentalist. Does Lost makes a lot of sense? Nope.
I am not trying to bash the mentalist. The Mentalist is supposed to be a procedural, it should not be that hard to follow, it was impossible to follow who had which painting last night and what did they do to get it back. It is getting 18 million viewers per episode, it should try to live up to the quality that is expected from an 18 million show.
The numbers for DH aren't that good BUT the competition was great, so this is understandable.
I am actually surprised that the mentalist didn't do any better with the lead in it had. I am sure CBS must be dissapointed, the show usually does much better after NCIS.

In the end, NFL Football Playoffs trumped two nights of 'American Idol' in Week 17 as CBS eked out a narrow A18-49 victory over FOX. What a disaster for DH. i Mean barely 13 millions for the 100th episodes is simply awful no matter the competition
I don't know what you have been watching this past week but CBS did promote the hell out of the mentalist. All of last week I have seen promo for the Sunday broadcast in almost every shows that I watch on CBS, there was so many promo for it that it got annoying.
Oops...I forgot. And I just added it. As for The Mentalist, no, I would not expect too much more when the finals are released. BUt it is still a blockbuster just the same.

While ABC did decently against football, they really did waste DH's 100th Episode. It could have gotten higher ratings if it aired next week.
The rest of the networks were in repeats or filler which was wise. Yesterday's ratings were dominated by football. The Mentalist's retention out of football wasn't good. Less than 50%.

Well forgive me, but i usually skip the commercials and that includes TV promos. The only way i might actually see it is if they used captions during their shows. But i don't remember seeing such thing. Maybe i wasn't paying enough attention
It would have made more sense and would have most likely done better in the ratings with lesser competition.

Considering it look almost 15 minutes for The Mentalist to start after the game finished, and the late 10:30 start, things could of been worse. Maybe if they knew the game would go till 10:30, they could of scheduled an episode of The Big Bang Theory or Gary Unmarried.
