What follows are the fast affiliate ratings for Sunday, Jan. 18 broken out by the networks overall and by half-hour (in the order of ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and the CW):
Can't wait to see the finals tomorrow to see how The Mentalist actually did (CBS broadcast it live after the AFC championship on the west coast, as well, so it started at 7:34pm out here). Actually a little surprised to see the viewership number so low in the fast nationals!
DH's 100th episode certainly went up against stiff competition... but a 4.6/10 in the demo? The show might not make it to season nine...
Regardless of the ratings (though I can't believe they were DOWN!) that was one of the best episodes of DH ever. If the Emmys didn't suck so badly I'd say they deserve one.
I totally agree. I dont watch as much tv as I used to, but their are two shows that I watch religiously, DH and Big Bang. DH was definitely awsome last night. I actually think that this year is even better than their first, if that is even possible.

The viewers dropped, but the demo is up from its usual 4.0ish. Plus, the show didnt start til 10:30 and end around 11:30. If the game would of ended sooner, I bet the numbers would of been better. Anyways, I thought last nights episode was one of the better ones.
based on previous experience, do you think this is just significantly understated in the fast nationals and will be much much higher in the finals?

I thought last nite's episode was great. I was amazed at how the show pulled you in eventhough the character that died had never before been scene....truely amazing.

What a disaster for DH. i Mean barely 13 millions for the 100th episodes is simply awful no matter the competition
ABC never should have aired it against football. I realize they figured as a show that appeals to women it would be a good alternative for football but just never a good idea when its a championship game that gets 30 million viewers. I know myself I dvred DH, which I rarely ever do since I normally watch it live. but my guess is a lot of people did the same thing.
No idea... other than Super Bowl/post-SB shows and the Oscars, the live simulcast is rarely used. I'll see if I can find anything when I have a break from work today.

It was convoluted, illogical and did not make a whole lot of sense.

It seems like you are always bashing The Mentalist. Does Lost makes a lot of sense? Nope.
