The best part about Fringe not doing well? Castle is second to only Lie to Me (and retention-wise, probably better) in sophomore dramas. Plus, with Lie to Me either Thursday or Friday bound (if that even), I'd say Castle will be the sophomore show to survive to season three. Let me say it again for you pisher, CASTLE, SEASON THREE, on a TV near you!

I'm pretty sure you've forgotten completely about The Mentalist, which is by far the top sophomore drama in both viewers and demo. It's almost hard to believe Lie to Me is 2nd in sophomores with it being below expectations this season. On the other hand, it's hard to believe Castle is 3rd with 50% retention and a 2.3-2.4 demo.

Marc, I know that Community and Parks and Recreations aren't doing too well but both of them are only 0.4 demo points away from Bones and FlashForward. Community hits a time period high! Good numbers for The Office and 30 Rock too.
Wow at Fringe. Sub 2 in the demo is ridiculous!
The Mentalist seems to be growing in it's time slot and beat Private Practice on the demo.

I have to say that while I like FlashForward it's a bit boring at times, I've actually switched to watching Vamp Diaries live and DVRing FF.

Not really surprised about Fringe. This season is awful!
FlashForward has simply become boring. While it started out with so much promise, the storyline is already dragging, and yesterday's episode was supposed to be the gamechanger. Granted, I watch it online in favor of Survivor life, but I'm not sure I'll even continue to watch it online. The show is just not as good as it was hyped up to be for so long. With such a high budget and diminishing ratings, it'll be 22 and done.
What disappoints me is that ABC put most of their money into FlashForward and not V. After watching V, it's clearly the superior show, and almost makes FF look like an embarrassment. I'm hoping to god that V's ratings hold up, because this is a show that could really be the next Lost for the network.
The consolidation between A&E Networks and Lifetime has begun, with more than 100 pink slips passed this week across the A&E Television Networks landscape.
Layoffs are across the board, with Lifetime departments like legal, human resources, publicity and marketing particularly hard hit.
Out in the shuffle are Lifetime head of reality Jessica Samet and head of casting Rick Jacobs.
Everybody knows parenthood is a tough gig. But the creatives involving in birthing “Parenthood,” NBC’s adaptation of the 1989 movie of the same name, had no idea of the personal trials they would face in getting the ensemble drama on the air.
“The past six months have been absolutely excruciating,” says David Nevins, prexy of Imagine Television, which is producing the series with Universal Media Studios. “There have been so many ups and downs. But this show is unbelievably good, and I’ve been dying to put it out into the world.”
“Parenthood,” shepherded by “Friday Night Lights” showrunner Jason Katims, was NBC’s most well-received pilot last spring. But the show was dealt a blow in July when one of its central players, “ER” alum Maura Tierney, was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Although “Parenthood” revolves around four adult siblings in a sprawling extended family, the story turns on the decision of Tierney’s character, Sarah, to pack up her two teenage kids from their dead-end life in Fresno, Calif., and move back up to Berkeley to live with her parents and be near her brothers and younger sister.
Tierney earned uniform praise for her work in the pilot in biz circles and among the select critics who screened the original pilot. NBC initially decided to postpone its fall premiere to midseason to give Tierney time to undergo treatment. But by September, it became clear that she would need significantly more time for treatment and recovery.
Tierney’s fate was a real-life medical drama that Katims might’ve scripted for one of the characters. It was also the second time that the unpredictability of life was deeply impressed upon the cast and crew. NBC’s creative executive on the show, Nora O’Brien, 44, died suddenly during a location shoot for the pilot in April.
Once the inevitability of Tierney’s diagnosis sank in, NBC, U and Imagine reluctantly decided to recast the role. Lauren Graham, late of “Gilmore Girls,” was high on Katims’ wish list. To his great relief, it didn’t take long for her to say “yes.”
Holler! Looks like we were most definitely on to something when we reported yesterday that Julianne Moore may be Alec Baldwin's new love interest on 30 Rock.
Onlookers in New York City are reporting back that they just saw Julianne and Alec shooting a scene together in Rockefeller Center in New York City this very afternoon.
That's a deal-maker, my friends!
A supersleuth from our E! Online team in NYC just stopped by 30 Rock's filming location minutes ago and was told that Julianne was working on the show today but has wrapped for the day.
Magical, right?
So what were Julianne and Alec doing? A makeout scene?
Not yet. One passerby who saw Julianne and Alec filming while on his lunch break reports back:
"I saw them right around 3 o'clock. To be honest, I can't remember what they were wearing (too distracted by how pretty Julianne was), and during the time I saw them they were in between takes, so not really saying anything of note. They looked verrrrry chummy though! No one else from the cast appeared to be there."
Though there is still no official word from NBC or Julianne's rep, it certainly appears as though it's true that Julianne is the new love interest for Jack Donaghy that Alec told us about:
"I won't say who it is, but someone very near to us who may be coming on to play my girlfriend for four episodes."
Now that it's (sorta kinda almost) official, are you excited Julianne will be snuggling up to Jack?
Wow, if this is true, with Moore and Franco guest starring, is anyone immune to the call of 30 Rock? Not that I'm complaining of course.
I have to agree that FF is heading towards being cancelled in May if the ratings don't at least stabilize at this level. It should be doing better with all of the promotions.

With hardly any competition tonight, the ratings should have been much better. Falling below a 3.0 is probably a blow to ABC and the show, but falling all the way to a 2.6 and getting beat by Bones? That's not in anyway good, especially since this was the advertised "gamechanger." If things don't pick up fast, ABC will have no choice but to cancel it in May, or drastically cut its budget.
Vampire Diaries is not a bad show at all. I fully expected to hate but I'm enjoying it a lot. They have cut down on the teen romance stuff a lot since the first couple of episodes. Now they are mixing horror, mythology, mystery and romance quite well. The main romance on the show is a lot less tacky then the one on True Blood (although True Blood is a better show overall). I would love it even more if the lead character was not such a wimp. He took charge for one episode and is now back to being a wimp.
