I will admit to being nervous about FLASHFORWARD...I see it coming back for a year two but it's clear it isn't the next LOST.
Quality serialized dramas have had a tough time these last few years...for whatever reason the masses prefer cookie cutter procedurals that are completly interchangable.
Yeah FRINGE does pick up DVR viewers but that didn't save a much better shoe TERMINATOR-THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES...TERMINATOR ratings and PRISON BREAK Friday ratings look pretty good to what FOX had on until recently. I guess all things are relative.
The worst thing about fringe is it had the highest rated show as a lead in the whole year last year and yet it did poorly in the ratings right from the start of its second season.

Flashforward sounded interesting, but after I saw the first episode I didn't think much of it.
OK, the demos tell a different story but CSI handily beating GA in live viewing numbers proves CSI is far from dead. Great pairing with TM
It's a great pairing by the measuring sticks used here, for sure, and alot of networks would kill for 100% retention. But my guess the expectations for TM were higher, that TM was hot enough to grow out of CSI. Isn't happening. Credit to CSI for holding the line and not bleeding anymore after the difficult spring. Just as I think they expected more out of TM, there were probably strong fears even more would not return to CSI after the summer.
Private Practice surprises me a bit. Add it all up, and this is a very average show with some obvious holes in it.

You should give it another chance. The first episode was just the set up...now its weaving a rich layered story from that set up.I think the back episodes are on the ABC website.
Like most fans of the show, I DVR Fringe to watch later so I can watch The Office & CSI. Thursday is just so crowded, some good shows are getting pushed back.
I know Community is now a once in a while show for me because of Bones and Survivor being on at the same time.

The biggest obstacle for V will be how does it handle the long term? Does it become what Sarah Conner Chronicles was... The resistance attacking the Vs each week? That is what killed the original series.

I really loved the episode last night but I think viewers these days suffer from "Lost-itis", if they don't get answers right away, they tend to lose interest pretty quickly. This does not bode well for V in my opinion although V is a much simpler show in terms of concept ie good vs bad and not all this philosophical fate and destiny concept. I do hope FF stabilizes because this is not the kind of show that casual viewers will come back to unfortunately.

Uhh... you think 200,000 viewers is such a big difference? It's not Fringe that kills it, in fact CSI and Grey's hurt it more. There's a lot that factors in the ratings being down, but blaming it on Fringe alone just isn't accurate. With a lead in like VD SPN should be doing better, it's time for Supernatural to end.

Last night was really tough BONES episode to watch. Am I the only one getting tired of the sex talk about Angela? (Are they trying to be 2.5 Men??) Then they get preachy about raising animals for food.
I miss the old episodes where is was great interaction of the characters while solving a crime through science. Now the Crime solving is secondary, if not a side note to the crap they fill the rest of the time with.
Now I really want to see Fox try to spin the numbers for Fringe as being something positive! I'm sure the numbers are now down from what KN was pulling last year at this time. Boy Fox just knew how to kill the show, which to me is very disappointing. Even the DVR numbers won't make up for the all the audience it lost from last season. Congratulations!

I did chuckle several times throughout but even though last night the show may not have been at its peak quality, "Bones" is still among the best procedurals on television today. Definitely not a borefest - it's got some personality.

Agree 100%. The Caruso part was funnier than every sitcom i've watched this season. SN should become a comedy show. I'd watch it
I agree, it is the personalities that drives this series, but that is being pushed back for all the sex talk, which is not funny nor interesting.
Shows like 2.5 Men, HIMYM, BBT know how to handle sex within their shows. BONES and AOP really don't know how to do this right.

I'm watching the show but I'm not nervous about it - it hasn't earned my anxiety. Apart from these recent drops, look out for the first time it goes into an episode break like around Christmas.
Is this show a "quality" serialized drama? I don't know if they are there yet. They launched something moderately interesting and there are aspects of quality to it. But as with alot of shows sometimes the basics are overlooked. Right now you have a group of people obsessing about their FF's.
Cookie cutter procedurals have dominated and they do affect viewer habits in powerful and subtle ways. But nobody is preventing other types of shows from flourishing, although the margin for error with a serial is less. It is also easier to come up with an interesting and novel idea for a serial, so things kind of balance out.
