I bet a lot of the people who DVR it either never watch it at all, or fast-forward to the action (and past the commercials). As I'm sure you know, bittorent does absolutely nothing for the network. Yeah, I guess that is kinda sad.

Add in every single person who watches it through every possible method (including DVD), and you're still talking about a very small audience for a heavily promoted FOX drama.

your right...on the other site they had the dvr+7 day viewing and it was in the 7.5 mil range.

Still not a huge amount.

Privledged first run
1.88, 0.9/ 3

Encore
1.54, 0.8/ 2

Could the CW be testing a possible flip of OTH and Privledged with the one off encore showing? By this showing out of a GG encore, it just may be considering OTH has shown it can hold its own in the Tuesday 9 pm slot in the past.

Good that Boston Legal's numbers are truly consistent week-to-week. Sad that the numbers are so low that they warrant ending the show. Quality-wise, it is a great show. Sad to see it being sent to pasture.

You can call Boston Legal a loser all you like with those demos and the bad retention out of Dancing, but the funny thing is:
- it will more than likely do better in viewers this week than every other hour long drama on ABC excluding DH, GA, B&S, and UB.

Is there a thread on here that updates the ratings with DVR usage (same day and a week later)? I am curious how many of these shows see a significant uptick when those numbers are included. That may be what is keeping some of them off the chopping block (for now).

I think Boston Legal beat Ugly Betty in both viewers and the demos. I know viewers for sure though.

Heroes (NBC) – Monday 9 p.m.
10/08/07 – Viewers: 10.91 million (#3), A18-49: 5.1/12 (#1)
10/06/08 – Viewers: 8.21 million (#3), A18-49: 3.9/ 9 (#3)
Percent Change – Viewers: -25, A18-49: -24

Doesn't it now just seem like a distant dream when HEROES was so on fire that they were greenlighting a Spin Off called HEROES: ORGINS..to slake thirsty fans between the December and Spring Hiatus period...don't get me wrong...I like the show and most of the cast but its hard to believe how the mighty have fallen.

Also I would agree MY OWN WORST ENEMY is already a dead man walking even before its premier with the NBC Monday's tanking.

NBC Mondays are equally as dead. Heroes is a loser and now isn't a good lead in. In order for My Own Worst Enemy to open to decent numbers, it is going to have to be a self starter. It can't rely on Heroes to help it out. Chuck should have never gotten a full season renewal this early. It's numbers are awful. Life did about as well on Monday as it did on Friday. Life is a Friday show where it could possibly grow a bit.

Worst Week is gone but the rest seem to be holding. I'd just put ROE there and worry about saving CBS Wednesdays at 8 PM.

I'm not sure why FOX is ignoring the obvious and not transferring TERMINATOR to Wed at 9 to soak of some BONES fans. (And I know Pisher you think it shouldn't need a a lead in but the reality is that it does so there is no reason not to try this switch)

These two shows are a terrific tandem, and doing very, very well.

This is what I've thought for a while, though people keep setting them against each other.

That being said, I didn't like last night's BBT, and switched back to Olbermann. HIMYM was okay--honestly though, I'd stop watching if they ever lost Alyson Hannigan. Wink

A lot of people are talking about BBT or HIMYM moving to Wednesday to anchor the night, but you can forget it. No way CBS breaks up their young skewing, best hour of sitcoms pair. These shows are on a roll, as evidenced by Marc's analysis of how they each have improved on each other ratings in the opposite time slots last season. This pair will be together for the forseeable future. They work to well together to ever break them up.

really...9.4 M viewers is a loser now!! after 5 season pretty much staying even at 10M views, I think that is excellent for any show at 5 seasons. In the days of DVR and next day internet viewing, thats pretty great!. I watch Boston legal (1st of all, cause I DVR it) because I wanna watch it, I am not some drone watching silly shows like DWTS that happen to run in to the next show (I also have a remote control), I am sure David E Kelly doesn't want those viewers anyways, can't we just analyze shows but themselves, stand-alone! I watch all my TV by DVR, so I am no advertisers dream, but I am for TV, maybe it's time for them to separate!? Creative TV should never be in-bed with money making business, but what are ya to do? hopefully it will all change soon and a show can be judged by itself alone!
It's also great to know that Boston legal has 10M (approx) Intelligent viewers, thats probably enough!

BL is a a loser not because of the absolute numbers it got, but because of how relatively small they were in relation to its lead-in.

They aren't doing it because the costs of the move would not justify the ratings. This is a smart move on FOX's part. If one show moved, it would be PB. It's 18 to 34 numbers are constantly higher. For instance this week:

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles 5.610 2.3/6 2.0/6
Prison Break 5.427 2.2/5 2.2/5

The reality is that it isn't going to perform well enough in any timeslot, relative to expectations, and they need to let it go. And another reality is that once they moved it, and it continued to tank, fans would scream "FOX killed SCC--nobody knew where to find it."

Bones and SCC aren't remotely compatible. FOX may need to get rid of the sitcoms after Bones, sure--but pity to waste a good lead-in on SCC.

Why on Earth isn't FOX moving PB at 8pm?

Look i really find BL horrible, but no matter the retention clearly it's not a loser

Earlier, Mark posted the following:

Dancing With the Stars (ABC)
8:00 p.m. – Viewers: 16.91 million (#1), A18-49: 3.9/11 (#1)
8:30 p.m. – Viewers: 18.94 million (#1), A18-49: 4.3/11 (#1)
9:00 p.m. – Viewers: 19.55 million (#1), A18-49: 4.5/10 (#2)
9:30 p.m. – Viewers: 19.85 million (#1), A18-49: 4.7/11 (#1)

As good as this is – and it is tremendous – Cloris Leachman on Dancing With the Stars is beginning to wear very thin. While I admire her gusto, I also think this is a competition that needs to be treated more seriously. Don’t you? My pick to exit tonight: Rocco DiSpirito.
[End quote]

Sorry, but with Misty's exit due to injury, they won't do another elimination this week (with the exception of the first week of this season).

So, Rocco (and Cloris, unfortunately) are both safe until next week. (otherwise the show would be off by a week and finish early - not good programming-wise when building to a finale)
