Prime-Time Ratings:
Wednesday 2/18/09

-Total Viewers:
Fox: 17.80 million, CBS: 11.53, ABC: 7.54, NBC: 5.93, CW: 815,000

-Adults 18-49:
Fox: 6.5 rating/17 share, ABC: 3.0/ 8, CBS: 2.9/ 8, NBC: 1.7/ 4, CW: 0.3/ 1

----------

-Yesterday’s Winners:
American Idol (Fox), Criminal Minds (CBS), Lost (ABC), CSI: NY (CBS)

-Yesterday’s Losers (excluding repeats):
Knight Rider (NBC), Lie To Me (Fox), Life (NBC), Life on Mars (ABC)

----------

-Ratings Breakdown:
Led by American Idol, it was no contest with Fox the network to beat on Wednesday. Tied for the No. 2 spot was ABC (in adults 18-49) and CBS (in total viewers). NBC finished a distant fourth overall, followed by the CW.

American Idol kicked-off the evening for Fox with 24.39 million viewers and an 8.9 rating/24 share among adults 18-49 from 8-9 p.m. Comparably, that beat the four competing networks combined. Take a look:

Wednesday 8 p.m.
American Idol (Fox)
Viewers: 24.39 million (#1), A18-49: 8.9 rating/24 share (#1)

The New Adventures of Old Christine (CBS) – 8 p.m.
Viewers: 7.32 million (#2), A18-49: 2.0/ 6 (#2)

Gary Unmarried (CBS) – 8:30 p.m.
Viewers: 7.26 million (#2), A18-49: 2.1/ 5 (#2t)

Lost R (ABC)
Viewers: 5.57 million (#3), A18-49: 1.9/ 5 (#3)

Knight Rider (NBC)
Viewers: 5.49 million (#4), A18-49: 1.5/ 4 (#4)

Privileged R (CW)
Viewers: 857,000 (#5), A18-49: 0.3/ 1 (#5)

While no show in this hour can compete with American Idol, Gary Unmarried’s compatibility out of The New Adventures of Old Christine is still positive to make not of.

Leadership was mixed in the 9 p.m. between ABC’s still potent Lost and CBS’ underrated Criminal Minds. Fox’s competing Lie To Me completely squandered the support out of American Idol, meanwhile, with retention of just 46 percent in total viewers and 47 percent among adults 18-49. Take a look:

Wednesday 9 p.m.
Criminal Minds (CBS)
Viewers: 14.96 million (#1), A18-49: 3.7/ 9 (#3)

Lost (ABC)
Viewers: 11.27 million (#2), A18-49: 5.1/12 (#1)

Lie To Me (Fox)
Viewers: 11.21 million (#3), A18-49: 4.2/10 (#2)

Does anyone know what the heck is happening on Lost? I certainly don’t.

Also in the hour was NBC’s dying Life (Viewers: #4, 5.16 million; A18-49: #4, 1.5/ 4) and a repeat of the CW’s 90210 (Viewers: #5, 773,000; A18-49: #5, 0.3/ 1), which is only airing in encores to fill up the hour.

CBS led the 10 p.m. hour care of established CSI: NY, with 12.35 million viewers and a 3.0/ 8 among adults 18-49. Also present was NBC’s veteran Law & Order (Viewers: #2, 7.15 million; A18-49: #2t, 2.1/ 6), which is a shell of its former self in terms of the ratings, and ABC’s freshman Life on Mars (Viewers: #3, 5.27 million; A18-49: #2t, 2.1/ 6). Nice try ABC, but Life on Mars is just not working.

Its official folks no other comedy on any other network can get these strong numbers against Idol. The demos are always usually hanging up there in the 3s in the 25-54 demo. Like Leslie said before we have a demo that's making our true money and that's the 25-54 demo not the overrated 18-49.

KR is growing each week now and I think NBC may want to hang onto this one folks for a future Friday or Saturday destination next season. The show is getting better and better.

There's no stopping CM and NY NOW!

really? I thought last night's Lost was excellent and revealed the most answers in a long time...how they get back to the island, when, what method, why locke needed to help them. I don't think we'll see more in a while though as they will probably backtrack and tell us how everyone got on board and whats going on on the island

this proves that AI is the cause of Lost's sudden ratings drop last week... not like it wasnt obvious, just it seems that some people couldn't actually comprehend it.

lost last night was fantastic, really epic episode. i came to love Jack, which is funn,y cause I generally disliked him in the first 3 seasons.

Take it all in and enjoy it. AI moves to 9:00 on March 11, and will knock Lost right back down again.

What the heck did Kate do with Aaron? That scene was very cryptic. I wonder if she gave him to his grandma (Claire's mom), but then in order to do that she'd have to expose the whole lie.

Last night was dark. Something about these people on a plane eagerly awaiting its crash while other innocent, unknowing people are on board. And then the O6 are sort of transported onto the island. Where's de plane? If the 06 vanished what must the other passengers think? I would imagine that would raise suspicion back home.

Who beat the crap out of Ben?

So here's Jack, Kate and Hurley in the lagoon, they hear some far-out '70s music in the distance and here comes Jin in a shiny new Dharma van! I LOVE that they're stuck in the '70s!

I have a feeling Walt will be in next week's episode since it's heavily Locke centric.

I really hope NBC will give Knight Rider a 13 episode pick up for summer season or somthing like that.

robert will be royally pissed! Big Grin Last night's episode was wonderful! I wonder if ABC will move Lost again in March after Fox nastily moved AI against it?

Not at all, i don't care anymore. I've only wanted to see this overrated turned-stupid show in single figures for a week. And that happened already. But the icing on the cake will arrive in march. Then every episode will be in single figures
