You are correct. Now that I think about it, the local station episodes I catch of Girlfriends are now limited to the recent season's episodes re-aired in the afternoons on weekends.

Doesn't BET sell 'national' airtime for commercials or is all of that turned over to local cable operators?
As for the local stations advertising practices: I'd be happy if mine was smart enough not to air commercials for 2&1/2Men on CW right before Girlfriends is due to come on Monday night. Thankfully, that problem will now solve itself with CW moving Girlfriends to Sunday nights.
Side note: Girlfriends has 3 NEW episodes remaining. One will air at 9pm on Monday Feb. 4th. The next 2 will air back to back 9pm/9:30pm on Monday Feb. 11th.
