Impressive numbers for The Simpsons--I caught most of last night's first-run ep, and in spite of the extreme familiarity of the material, I was still laughing.

And the Back to the Future ref--classic.
The Simpsons actually did rather bad. Don't know where you see those impressive numbers
Some odd numbers. The Simpsons original was its lowest outing of the season, despite no football competition and a couple nights of Idol promos. The repeat that aired out of it actually built on it. Shark continues the streak of poor one-time airings this season. And I think this Hallmark movie skewed even older than the last one.

Dude. The ep had no lead-in, and the show is in its 19th season.
Now please compare to American Dad at 9:30pm. In its third season.
I'm quite willing to take your word for it that this is the lowest-rated first-run ep of the season to date, but that in itself is pretty darn impressive.
I'm impressed, whether you like it or not.
And if this was somebody's favorite overrated on-the-bubble drama, I'd be hearing about how these numbers justified a two-year renewal.
Finally some good news for ABC -- hopefully they advertised LOST and Eli Stone a lot during EM:HE. The B&S rerun was the weak link at 10pm, otherwise they may have taken both viewers and the demo. Still, very good and welcome news.
