Well are you asking as a fan of the NFL, because I have been rooting for NE to lose, so I didn't want them in the SB, and I wanted to GB to win because I hate Eli. But asking the NFL, they love it, and so will NBC, because they have next year's SB.
Why would next year's SB would be bigger? I don't get it. NE has broken all the records, no matter what happens there won't be as much buzz
The ad rates for the Super Bowl are always rising. The Super Bowl is so big that it doesn't matter about the match up, its the event itself. BUZZ is pretty much the same each year.
That's not true. Just the fact a match was broadcasted at the same time on 3 networks shows this year is out of the ordinary

Well, they do have about 40 hours each of unaired "Saints & Sinners" and "American Heiress" episodes that could be scheduled should the thirst for scripted programming become dire.
You should really have put a winking smiley after that comment.

During the 2006-07, MyNetworkTV aired a substantial amount of original scripted fare (approximately 310 hours of scripted originals), which is more than The CW aired.
We aren't talking about last year. We are talking about why their ratings are higher now. The answer: they got rid of their scripted fare.

MyNetworkTV has both a sitcom and drama development project that are in abeyance due to the WGA strike. Until that dispute is settled, they are well-placed to compete with The CW using their growing number of well-rated reality series, strongly-rated specials and reliable theatrical movie franchises.
You misused the words 'well-placed', 'well-rated', strongly-rated', and 'reliable' above.

I have to agree that next year's Superbowl will almost certainly be lower rated than this year. How often does the Superbowl feature and undefeated team and a team from the biggest TV market in the USA? Never-the-less, the Superbowl will be the highest watched and most buzzed about show on TV next year unless 60 Minutes releases a video tape of Rudy Giuliani and Hillary Clinton doing it on the Senate floor while they are in full session.

That was the NFL/NFL Network caving in. Yes, the record has interest up on the patriots. But the Super Bowl is big, with or without it. It is bigger than the record. Next years SB will be bigger than the record.

If this years game is an early blowout, Its ratings will be down from last year.

Just when you thought they couldn't show their blatant hatred enough, they go and schedule the season finale opposite the Super Bowl.
Make that reschedule, since they kept pushing the episodes back. I guess they needed to save them for those strategic opportunities when they're likely to get a, you know, zero share.
The best part about all of this is that Life is Wild was the ONLY new show the CW launched this year that had true hit potential (ala 7th Heaven) because it could've skewed towards a wide audience. Instead, it was sent to the graveyard and now is being given a dagger in the heart for an ending. Bravo Dopestroff. Bravo.

Well SB will always be big. But i doubt in the near future will be as big as this year. Un undefeated team against a New York team is a dream come true for FOX

It must be a really early blowout. And i doubt this will be the case. IMO it's impossible for this SB to do worse than 95 million

once again robert shows off his overwhelming knowledge of american sports by calling a football "game" a "match". I bet Tom Brady can't wait to get out on the pitch and fire a googly through the wicket! This is where I'd put one of those winking smiley faces if I knew how.

The 'graveyard' was the same timeslot that 7th Heaven had the year before. If the fans of 'family soap' can't find the show when it is put in the same timeslot as the last family soap, don't blame the network. The reality is, whatever 'theoretical interest' Life is Wild had going for it, did not translate into actual viewer interest.
