Go 1 vs. 100! I wasn't expecting that kind of a spike with original GW out of the mix, but apparently it made a big difference, along the lines of 30% or so (demo). Even against repeats, 8.8 million is pretty strong on a Friday. I'm not big on this "recurring mob" thing, but maybe they had to do it in light of budget cuts.
Also a rare journey into 2.0 territory for FNL, complete with a slight demo build at the half-hour. And Garth Brooks did decent work for CBS.
For ABC: how about a revival of Duel on Fridays, maybe at 9pm leading out of the NBC game show? It brought the net something like its second or third largest viewership in the Friday 8pm slot during calendar year 2007. Grey's/DH repeats are absolute disasters. Even if Duel only hits 6 million and 1.7, that'd be a massive improvement.

I'm glad to see 1 vs. 100 recover a bit (not it's highs, but it was starting to get dangerously low and NBC doesn't seem to like this show much so it has gotta perform well.)

It was doing 7 millions a week before Christmas
I think there's hope with this show even if a burnoff of Millionarie
Friday Night Lights is barely limping ahead of CW's Smackdown. It really loses a major chunk of its lead-in viewers.
ABC's juggernaut soaps (DH and GA) are close to worthless in re-runs Friday night. They hover about a 1 in the demo and they lose viewers at the half hour as people grow bored (or realize that they remember the plot and don't want to rehash it again). ABC really needs to find something else to put in those timeslots. There is no reason that they should be losing to CW.
CBS did well with Garth Brooks. I don't really see how that concert stuff would be a bigger draw than the concert stuff MNTV puts on so the difference in the viewer number is inherent to the network identity. People simply don't know where MNTV is or are unwilling to watch it even if they can put on the same kind of program as one of the big networks. CW shows the same identity problem when shows like ANTM get out rated by The Apprentice or Aliens in America gets outrated by Big Bang Theory.

Part of that difference can be attributed to less promotion (let alone to its target audience) and less availability.

Maybe CBS should have lined-up a series of Country concerts for this strike season. They seem to do well with the - "My truck broke down, then lost my job, so my wife left me ... Oh please Jesus give me a beer..
In terms of people knowing about the existence and programming on MNTV & CW...
If you have direct tv, the CW and MNTV don't appear with the others on the channel guide. In LA those two stations are available by their broadcast numbers (single digit, i think), but HD for the big 4 networks are channels 81, 83, 87, & 89. So when I flip on the guide to see what's on I never see those listings. I think this is in the process of changing and I will be using 2, 4, 7 & 11 for HD soon, therefore I may get more reminders of what's on those stations. I didn't even know MNTV existed until I read about it on this board and went looking into it. CW I knew as the bastard spawn of WB & UPN but I didn't pay much attention to it.
