I watched VM last night and I almost fell asleep, I can't believe how boring it was (my opinion) I have seen much better ones.CW should cancel VM or else it would make another foolish mistake.
I have to agree about VM being boring although I turned it on for the VM fans who asked me to watch just so maybe I could help with the ratings since they said they would do the same for my show OTH tonight!
Speaking of OTH.. tonight's episode will be very funny don't miss it! I hope it gets bigger ratings than the last time.
Yeah, check your local listings, I heard there are more pre-emptions tonight. Never gets a break!
VM isn't up agaisnt AI. OTH and GG are and they are getting bad numbers but SN targets a different audience so I can still see SN get in the upper 3 millions.
That's right - they didn't show it to avoid the confrontation - my bad. I don't know about SN and AI targeting different audiences though. Everyone I know who watched SN is female and in the 18-35 demo. MAybe all the guys just won't admit to watching it
Hi Marc ! I have questions concerning how ratings work...I'm kinda new to this When you say that FOX's total number of viewers is 20.83 million - how do you come up with this figure ? I mean, AI had 31.7 million viewers...So, is the 20.83 million an AVERAGE for FOX for the night ???
I used to like VM back in its 1st and 2nd season. But now?! What happened to this show? The best ep from season 3 was Spit and Eggs. There has to be more action.. the monkey episode was very inappropriate there shouldn't be eps like this one.The only thing that I liked about it was that Veronica and Logan are back together.
Well, Nielsens start measuring college students on Jan. 29, so that should help Veronica Mars a bit. And sure, as someone posted, House will be helped as well, but I would imagine that it won't help Criminal Intent, the Unit, and AFV that much.
Yeah....the average viewing age for AI is 12, while NCIS's is 112.
It is telling that NCIS seems to hold up better(at least in the weekly rankings) against Idol than it did against Dancing with the Stars, which skews a bit older. On the other hand, I believe that NCIS was in the top 20 in "the demo" last week, so it is impressive.
Does anyone here watch this show? I've read a few reviews of this show and overall opinion isn't favorable...in fact, if I recall one called the show the worst-written drama on television right now. Is it just an appeal to the 33% of the American public that supports George Bush's policies, or is it a broader-ranger appeal that supports the military. I've thought about checking it out but was fearful of being bored silly or watching another predictable CBS whodunnit...

Since both CSI and GA combined pull in as many viewers as AI, and we're not counting Scrubs and OC, Thursdays are still just as tough. It is nice to know that now other shows have heavy competition though. As someone mentioned SN did go against AI and did just fine. And yes, probably because of different audience targets.

Yes...that 20.83 million is the average for the night for Fox (8-10 p.m.).

Yeah, your right. But I feel like OC and GA shouldn't have the same demo area, I mean maybe a little, but if your a SN fan, why would you tune into a drama rather than watch SN. I guess there is just a loyal SN audience who watched no matter what else is on or how the show is. I wish I could say the same about OTH but apparently many people dislike this season, the storylines, etc. So, many of them are tuning into AI instead.
Why was evryone expecting huge numbers for VM? I know that the competition was as weak as u can probably get, but don't forget VM is a serialized show. It's imposiible to double its numbers from an episode to another. SN's numbers last year were much better beacause each episode has it's own story.
Since it faced the President on four networks, it should have gotten a bigger bump.

SN is very much like VM in story format. Each episode has serialized elements and individual stories in each episode. You didn't have to watch the previous episodes to follow the save the monkey story line.

Well, I think there should have been something more serious, I mean the last episode was like Wow! alot of action alot of suprising moments and now it was just not good. Those episodes will not help VM to get a 4th season
