One thing I'll credit VM for was its demo performance. A 1.5 for only 3.3 million viewers isn't all that bad, and usually VM only gets a 1.1 or 1.2 for the high 2 millions. That was clearly a benefit of the SOTU counterprogramming.
NCIS is holding up pretty well against AI. Then again, I think they have completely different audiences. The VM rating game is just like what I went through with Arrested Developement. I guess I have to say goodbye to another favorite.
Yeah....the average viewing age for AI is 12, while NCIS's is 112.

Exactly! NO EXCEPTIONS! And don't anyone start defending VM just because GG was low too. That won't work this time, given that nothing else was on at 9:00 for the main young demos.

As I suspected--unfortunately--the Christopher crap finally buried Gilmore Girls. May they rest in peace. They had a good run, but all shows have a natural, creative end. Obviously its not as resistant to the almighty AI as it once was. It's a shame. Even more of a shame about VM, which is a good show. I'm really sorry to see those numbers on the night of the SOTU. 3.29 million against House would have been fine. The 1.5 demo is promising, but.....
I think the big loser last night was President Bush once again. He was on four networks and barely beat the audience number of American Idol ... And I bet American Idol's audience was better 18-49...

It is telling that NCIS seems to hold up better(at least in the weekly rankings) against Idol than it did against Dancing with the Stars, which skews a bit older. On the other hand, I believe that NCIS was in the top 20 in "the demo" last week, so it is impressive.

But I didn't see the word "all" in their post either. It was just a statement.
No, you're right too. I'm just overreacting. So disappointed that GG is ending the way it is. And wondering if it's even ending at all this year, given how desperate CW has become.
GG would be losing viewers this year no matter what its competition happened to be, but if it was still the show it was two years ago, it'd be able to hang tough even against AI.
It's not JUST the Christopher/Lorelei thing. The zingers just don't zing anymore. The actors aren't really into it. It's just work-for-pay now. And I'm not getting paid. So I'm outta there.
Heh, I guess OTH is not the only show doing bad against AI.. As for VM - seriously 3,29? This is just not working.. I watched VM last night and I almost fell asleep, I can't believe how boring it was (my opinion) I have seen much better ones.CW should cancel VM or else it would make another foolish mistake.
I think the VM numbers are horrible. I would label that a big loser. No competition AT all for entertainment programming.
It should've built on the GG lead-in because GG went up against AI
