Like I said before, CBS probably wouldn't take the risk of moving AOP now. It's holding stable and its showing signs of growth, and even if ROE could do better, I just don't see them making that move.

Although they should. AOP is a much better fit with Old Christine, while ROE is just about as perfect a fit as you can get with HIMYM.

My guess is ROE will just take over for GU on Wednesdays in March. GU can air its full season by then. Old Christine will probably live the full season again. Or, ROE could take over for AOP in March. Personally, if they didn't want ROE on the schedule in the first place, I don't understand why they keep renewing it.

I think this week CBS will either give AOP the full season, or at least extra episodes.

If it was my decision I would wait one more week, because it has perked up with House out of the time slot. I think House out of the time slot helps it more than the World Series hurts it. I would wait one more week to see, but I think CBS has to make a decision this week. They only have tapings through November 13, and they need to tool up for more shows soon.

If AOP moves, it will be pared with Old Christine. I don't see them shelving Gary.

If CBS has another comedy available for Mid-season, then look for a 4th hour of comedy. if there is not another comedy, other than ROE, for mid-season, then everything will be up in the air with ROE, AOP, OC and GU.

Meanwhile, Rules always has promise - it's just always been affected by the scheduling. I think if CBS were to put this on Mondays at 8pm, it could prove to be a better performer than AOP.

But, I'm just hypothesizing here. In realism, I doubt CBS would ever take that risk. AOP is doing fine where it is, so they'll probably air it there, while returning ROE somewhere to the schedule in March.

My point exactly. CBS clearly has something against this show. But, they'd never do that, especially when repeats for most comedies do just fine. I'm sure it'll return for 13 episodes in the same way it did last season.

Although, with Undercover Boss, I would love to see CBS open a 4th comedy hour. The chances of that happening are close to none, though, so I don't know why I even brought it up, lol.

Fits of overenthusiasm?

Noone, probably on the entire internet, has done more to raise the profile of this ordinary show than yourself. Hopefully your tireless razzing is done tongue in cheek, because you have otherwise elevated it to a "royal" status it clearly does not deserve, at least in terms of the number of keystrokes devoted to it.

Let dippish keep on typing Bruce. He's already been dealt a blow in a full season renewal. Now all I need is for a few more Tuesday-Wednesday 10pm performers to flop and Castle will be smooth sailing to season three! Big Grin

Like even that would stop me. If it goes to a full season four, I might start getting mildly discouraged. But boy, are you counting unhatched chickens like the dickens. Big Grin

I'm not the one who put my eggs in the Fringe basket and am now trying to sell them off like hot cakes! Big Grin

mushu, would you care to go over all YOUR broken eggs, hmmm? Smiler

I haven't started liking Greys because it's kicking ass again. I wouldn't have enjoyed this season of Fringe to date if it had gotten more viewers than Greys and CSI combined.

And whatever happens with Castle, I've got plenty of fun coming up this season. Some of it with you. Wink

AOP perked up when House left the time slot. Remember a few weeks ago House was pushed back when a baseball game ran over time, and was preempted this week for the World Series. I still think the jury is out on AOP, but a decision is probably coming this week, anyway.

I don't think there is another comedy for midseason for CBS. They could always air ROE with a Men or BBT repeat, or even a full hour of ROE.

Pisher... that may be one of the most enjoyable (and telling) posts I've read from you!

Maybe we should just wait a few weeks... months... or even years... because no matter how long Castle is on the air, it will always be a failure, right? Roll Eyes

Hell, it was a failure the moment they cast Fillion. And has never ONCE gotten a decent retention rate out of its lead-in. But I understand your standards are lower, a-mad. To watch that thing, they'd kinda have to be. Smiler

You've just blocked out the day I said "wait for the finals" and it turned out the finals were WAYYYY lower, haven't you.

Big Grin

Hell, I've never seen an episode of Castle, pisher... so you can breathe a big sigh of relief that my standards haven't been bastardized by this train-wreck of a show. BIG SMILEY FACE GRIN WINK!

It will probably drop in the finals... I'm just getting a big kick out of your behavior this morning. From all your posts for the past 7 days you'd think that Game 5 would result in Castle getting some monumental series low or something. I even think you had concocted a cute post to go right after Marc's original post... but had to scrap it all after it wasn't as low as you expected (or... I guess wanted). So you had to pull out the "finals" card again.

Such an entertaining morning!

Supposedly, J.Stewart has set himself up to be the successor of Letterman's Late Show.

If Leno were to be scaled back, I would look at 7pm on Sundays as one of those NEW slots, along with the usual Death slots Friday and Saturday

I highly doubt that. NBC is in such a disaster mode, they don't have 5 hours of shows to fill that slot. They may however, start to phase him out gradually. Drop him down to nights like Monday and Friday or Wednesday and Friday, etc. Or they could do the creatively wise thing and move him back to 11:35 where he belongs. Conan can then be given the choice of going bye bye or going to 12:35. If Conan says bye bye (which he would), I would then begin a hot pursuit of Jon Stewart or Kimmel to take over Tonight long term. Jimmy Fallon can go back to SNL or perhaps join one of their prime time comedies. He's absolutely awful in late night.

Even if they wanted a 4th comedy, where would they put it? Sundays? I just don't see a 4th comedy hour opening up during this season. What I can see see CBS doing is shelving GU January-March and instead going with ROE on Wednesdays, to see how it does. Then in March, AOP can end early, and either ROE can take over the Monday 8:30 slot, returning GU to Wednesdays, or GU can go to Mondays at 8:30.

Moving ANY show around like that is a sure way to KILL a series.

I am holding out for CBS to make the push for a 4th comedy hour

Place Old Christine and AOP on Sundays at 8pm
ROE and Gary on Wednesdays
and place a new comedy at 8:30 on Mondays

I think CBS could definately do a fourth hour of comedy but it would likely be Wednesdays at 9 PM. As much as it's argued, I don't think comedies will move to Sundays. CBS seems like they are against that idea as the opportunity has presented itself before. CM and its spinoff (which is in my mind a lock) would have to move then which leads into an interesting scheduling scenario for next year. I think CBS would want to keep them together which means they'll likely be Tuesday bound, moving out NCIS: LA and TGW. I don't think they'll place them on Sundays because of the timeshifting with football overruns.

Never said you had, mushu. I understand this is about you trying to make up for all the times I've pwned you in the past. Never any confusion about that. Big Grin

What if Castle AND Fringe get third seasons? Mind you, I probably won't be watching either, but seems to me that would cancel out even your tiny symbolic victory. Wink

I know I brought this up before, but it's also been my belief that CBS will go with a 2 hour Wednesday comedy block. I mean, there really isn't any other reason why CBS would keep around a low rated comedy block for 2 years without wanting to build on it. And like I said before, we'll probably see BBT move into Mondays at 9pm next season, with Two and a Half Men moving to Wednesdays at 9pm for its last couple seasons.

But, for this season, I'd love to see the 4th comedy hour on Sundays. When you think about it, AOP is pretty young skewing, and could perfectly out of The Amazing Race at 9pm. Then, most likely Old Christine would move with it and air at 9pm. If they would do this, CBS could actually have something here. ROE could then to Mondays at 8:30, and Gary Unmarried could continue airing, possibly with Undercover Boss, on Wednesdays.

I think the BBT and 2.5 Men repeats would be a great option. Have them be the 8pm show with either GU or ROE on at 8:30pm
