FOX Solidifies Hold on A18-49s, CBS Still Top Net in Households & Viewers After 17 Days of 2008 May Sweep

After 17 days of the 2008 May Sweep, FOX holds a 0.37 A18-49 demo lead over second place ABC with CBS in third and NBC trailing in fourth with a 1.93 average. Meanwhile, CBS continues to be the most popular network in viewership with ABC in second, FOX following close behind in third and NBC lagging 2.6 million viewers behind in fourth.

In year-over-year comparisons, all the networks are down year-over-year in A18-49 demo, HUT and viewership: the six nets are down 14% in A18-49 and down 9% in viewership. The worst performer on a year-over-year A18-49 is NBC which is down 20% in A18-49, while The CW is worst in viewership decline which is down 16%. The best performer on a year-over-year measure is MyNetworkTV: up 36% in A18-49 and up 39% in viewers. Whereas a year ago, MNT was at about one-third of CW levels, this May it is trending in the one-half range.

This years and last years numbers are based upon final Nielsen numbers except for Friday and Saturday which are based on FAST National data.
