-Total Viewers:
CBS: 9.93 million, ABC: 8.87, NBC: 6.41, Fox: 5.81, CW: 2.64

-Adults 18-49:
CBS: 2.9 rating/7 share, ABC: 2.7/ 7, NBC: 2.6/ 6, Fox: 2.2/ 5, CW: 1.2/ 3

----------

-Yesterday’s Winners:
Shrek the Halls - R (ABC), Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas – R (ABC), Two and a Half Men - R (CBS), CSI: Miami - R (CBS)

-Honorable Mention:
The Big Bang Theory - R (CBS), How I Met Your Mother - R (CBS)

-Yesterday’s Losers (excluding repeats):
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (Fox), Samantha Who? (ABC), Prison Break (Fox), Privileged (CW), My Own Worst Enemy (NBC)

----------

-Ratings Breakdown:
Despite airing a night of all repeats, CBS still dominated Monday with its combination of The Big Bang Theory (Viewers: #2, 8.02 million; A18-49: #2, 2.5 rating/ 7 share), How I Met Your Mother (Viewers: #2, 8.02 million; A18-49: #2, 2.8/ 7), Two and a Half Men (Viewers: #1, 13.66 million; A18-49: #1, 4.1/10), Worst Week (Viewers: #3, 7.86 million; A18-49: #3, 2.2/ 5) and CSI: Miami (Viewers: #1, 11.00 million; A18-49: #1, 3.0/ 8). With retention for Worst Week out of Two and a Half Men of just 58 percent in total viewers and 54 percent among adults 18-49, CBS could – and should – be doing much better at 9:30 p.m. Sounds like benchwarmer Rules of Engagement will be called to duty soon. As for The Big Bang Theory encore, who knew it would be so cool to be a nerd!

Holiday ABC repeats Shrek the Halls (Viewers: #1, 11.17 million; A18-49: #1, 3.3/ 9) and Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Viewers: #1, 11.71 million; A18-49: #1, 3.8/ 9) opened the night on a winning note. But without the support of Dancing With the Stars, two episodes of lead-out Samantha Who? dipped to 6.88 million viewers and a 2.1/ 5 among adults 18-49 from 9-10 p.m., with the half-hour breakdown as follows:

Samantha Who? (ABC)
9:00 p.m. Viewers: 6.78 million (#3), A18-49: 2.2/ 5 (#3)
9:30 p.m. Viewers: 6.79 million (#3), A18-49: 2.1/ 5 (#4)

That led into Boston Legal, with a second-place 8.39 million viewers and a 2.3/ 6 among adults 18-49 from 10-11 p.m., and growth out of the 9:30 p.m. portion of Samantha Who? of 1.60 million viewers and 10 percent in the demo. Next Monday marks the series-finale of Boston Legal.

NBC had little of note on this first Monday of December with its line-up of Chuck (Viewers: #3, 7.25 million; A18-49: #3, 2.5/ 6), fading Heroes (Viewers: #2, 7.96 million; A18-49: #1, 3.6/ 9) and canceled My Own Worst Enemy (Viewers: #3, 4.03 million; A18-49: #3, 1.6/ 4). My Own Worst Enemy officially signs off on Dec. 15. And one year earlier, Heroes netted a significantly stronger 11.06 million viewers and a 5.0/11 in the demo, based on the final nationals. This will still not come close to year-ago levels even when the DVR usage kicks in.

As previously announced, NBC will fill Mondays in January with a two-hour edition of upcoming reality/competition Superstars of Dance and new Ryan Seacrest relationship-driven hour Momma’s Boys.

Next was Fox with its soon-to-be split pairing of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (Viewers: #4, 5.83 million; A18-49: #4, 2.2/ 6), which heads to Friday, and Prison Break (Viewers: #4, 5.80 million; A18-49: #3, 2.2/ 5), which has its fall season-finale on Dec. 22. And the CW capped off the evening with Gossip Girl (Viewers: #5, 3.08 million; A18-49: #5, 1.5/ 4) and a Monday airing of Privileged (Viewers: #5, 2.20 million; A18-49: #5, 1.0/ 2), which got some additional sampling (but still fell short of typical levels for regular occupant One Tree Hill).

That's all SCC could manage against repeats of CBS sitcoms, Yuletide perennials, and Chuck?

You are SO terminated, mother****er.

Friday's too good for ya.

For all the Heroes bashing, I find it interesting that it can pull in only 3/4million more viewers, BUT more than a full point in the demo over Chuck. Heroes remains a demo strong point for NBC and they really need to find a way to pair it with stringer shows that the weakling, Chuck and the total failure MOWE.

Pretty good night for ABC. The holiday specials did very well, Boston Legal held, and at least SW didn't completely bomb. I would consider holiday specials that target kids to be a rather incompatible lead in. Still, it held steady so we know there's at least a core audience watching. Those numbers will still be high enough to be ABC's highest rated comedy come Jan/Feb.

Its a shame NBC is taking Chuck temporarily off for that upcoming dance competition now that it is slowly building momentum.

Can you post half breakdowns (that shows numbers in each half an hour), or how you call it? Please?

Heroes is only going to slip lower when it returns during Feb. Going by the shape of NBC, they'll probably renew it for season 4 regardless.

As for SCC, it's not gonna work on Fridays, and will probably kill Dollhouse with it.

SW will tank next week when it goes up against new episodes of the CBS sitcoms. The only reason it even got the 6.75 million is because the CBS shows were in repeats. Also, the ABC shows will all be going down in the finals. They were preempted in Houston for Football.

Chuck's rise is a one week thing. Next week it goes back to normal when BBT/HIMYM air new episodes.

Very smart move by ABC airing two episodes this week against the CBS repeats, and keeping it away from the new episodes of the CBS sitcoms next week. How they keep hiding it until DWTS comes back is the problem.

When Dollhouse fails, don't lay any of the blame on T:SCC. Clearly, Dollhouse has been marked for failure before the first episode ever aired...hence the delay in putting it on the schedule and the dumping of it to Friday. I'll still tune in for the premiere, but I won't expect it to be a show that most TV viewers can handle.

Heroes' premiere ratings weren't very good this season and it premiered before Chuck was on yet I believe. Heroes' ratings struggles have little to do with Chuck, it just was considered pretty bad last season, and wasn't good enough this season to win back or retain frustrated viewers. Sure, a very highly rated show would give it a slight ratings boost; but you can say the same thing for any show. And if Heroes had a highly rated show on before it, it would simply look bad for its failure to retain many of the viewers from its strong lead-in.

It does get solid demo numbers based on its ratings, but doesn't it cost a lot to produce, and aren't its demo numbers a huge drop off from before?
