Actually he did pretty well last year with CBS in terms of naming pilots going to series. The only thing he got wrong was putting Babylon Fields on his schedule but that was because there was a last minute complication and CBS had to switch it for Moonlight. CBS fully intended to put on Babylon Fields until the last few days. He did as well with ABC. FOX he had a few more problems but FOX is very unpredictable in the scheduling. I'd give him an A for accuracy for CBS, A- for ABC (Marlowe tripped him up), and a B- for FOX.

You got your extra hour of comedy you argued for, congrats!

Friday: Unchanged.

The Unit is also gone.

Nah. I see HIMYM as being the most talked about CBS show.

I want to say somthing about this bid HIMYM is better then The Big Bang Theory.

Some of you might think that HIMYM is better the The Big Band Theroy.

THat might be true sometimes in the ratings.

But it is true and a fact The Big Bang Theroy is a Better lead into Two and a Half Men.

Just look.....

The last night (November 12, 2007) The Big Bang Theroy was the lead into Two and a half men it got 9.39 million viewers.

And HIMYM has only gotten 9 million or over 3 time while they were the lead in to TAHM but when BBT was the lead in it got 9 million or over 5 times.

So with that proof I conclude that The Big Bang Theroy was a better lead into Two and a half men then HIMYM was.

If Moonlight is given a renewal and The Unit's officially cancelled it proves again how stupid CBS is ..
Let's examine the facts : Moonlight is still struggling desite all the publicity and hype and though it wins its timeslot it drops off its lead drastically and cannot even compete with the show following and is only averaging 7-8 millions and low demos which are supposed to be so important to the networks but The Unit was coming in third or second place depending on its competition yet still was averaging approx 10-12 million viewers give or take and at least a 3.0 demos yet did not even get to finish out its third season which would have been nice to see that ..
But yup could see CBS doing this anyway *rolleyes*
I guess CBS wants trash TV and not quality programming which seems to me their motto more and more LOL !!
Moonlight's alright but The Unit's better and always will be ..
Do I sound bitter ? Nope !! .Do I sound resentful ? Nope !!
Do I expect CBS to screw The Unit again ? Yup !!
Thank goodness I found Law & Order to watch on NBC where at least there is one quality program and one network who values quality .
My prediction : CBS loses the most money and the most viewership and why it is being called the Crappy Broadcasting Station ..

Pam do you like comedies? If so, check out Til Death and Back to You on Fox at 8/7c tonight. I've really found both to be worth the time.

NBC values quality? I hope you're not talking about Ben Silverman!

I think if it was returned to Friday nights, it would do some solid numbers though on a night where ABC clearly has nothing going for it. A cancellation here would be foolish. A 13 episode renewal Friday night run would be the correct route to take here and I'm sure it would also boost 20/20's numbers.

I also have to disagree about the mid-season replacement idea. These long lapses between new episodes would be reminiscent of Men In Trees and look where that ended up.

I agree with x. My beef is that it was moved to Tuesdays to begin with when we all knew it was the old folks who were watching from the get go. I know they have a special this Friday but perhaps next week a 2 hour repeat event is in order.

The 2 hour AFHV is airing next Friday May 16th and a repeat of the 2 hour GA season finale is airing on May 23.

Start Here

I am a si-fi / fantasy fan, and I would never call The Mentalist (or Ghost Whisperer, for that matter), a "sci-fi tinged project". Not by a long shot.
Other than The Mentalist, what other "sci-fi tinged projects" does CBS has in development?

I'm pretty sure you're wrong on this one. Renewal (according to everyone on every media outlet) is imminent.
But hey, just one more week for these speculations (Next Wednesday at 4p, actually), and then we'll get a second season and the naysayers here can find something else to be bitter about. Wink

Plus I think WMC can get ratings where ever it is, it's one of very few shows (if any!) that actually hasn't lost any viewers since the writers strike! In fact it's gained some! I'm not giving up hope on this show yet and neither should ABC!!

I agree with you both.

The BAD side is: it isn't able to retain even 80% of DWTS viewers.

The GOOD side is: This is the only CRIME DRAMA I watch on TV (and Boston Legal too)! The show gained viewers even if the WGA strike affected other shows and it is a good show.

But with the BAD side...ekkkk!

The 8 p.m. ET time slot was a CROWDED HOUR. In the households, "Idol" on FOX registered a 12.5/20 and a season-low of 21.25 million viewers. Then CBS' "NCIS" registered an 8.8/14 and 13.79 million viewers. ABC's "Dancing with the Stars Special: Judges' All-Time Favorite Dances" scored a 7.2/11 in the households and 10.50 million viewers.

So the 4.22 million viewers that IDOL lost + NBC's "...Outrageous Moments" viewers SPLIT to watch "NCIS" on CBS and "DWTS Special" on ABC.

If Mork & Mindy counts as 'Sci-fi', Ghost Whisperer most definitely counts as Sci-fi.

Hmm...interesting. DialIdol has Cook with the decided lead and Castro with far, far less than Syesha (though I know it's only taken from a small sample of those using the software and doesn't take text votes into account).

Press keeps saying the powers that be would love Archuletta to win (esp given the outrageous praise he's been awarded week after week), but why do they? How can someone with precisely zilch stage presence compete with the current Disney superstars? Because I certainly can't see him appealing to many outside the Disney demo.

I really wonder how a season with arguably the best top 12 ever in terms of pure talent has taken such a downturn in the ratings. Is it boredom with the format? The judges? The contestants? All of the above? Cook has the magnetism and musicality I'd expect to bring in viewers, but maybe it all feels a little too predictable at this point, ie David vs David in the finale.
