I think this chatroom is obsessed with Moonlight! If I had to predict, I don't think CBS will renew it.

I think ABC should give WMC a 13-episode order. It has maintained a good portion of it's audience, repeats well, and gives them some much-needed diversity. It's numbers aren't great (especially in the demo), but it holds up well on Friday when little else has.

If CBS is deciding between renewing Shark or The Unit, I think The Unit will win. Shark isn't doing horrible, but it's not good either. The Unit is something a bit different while Shark is a basic procedural and it performs slightly better than Shark. Although, I don't think it would be a bad idea to hold it until mid-season to give a new show the after NCIS spot.

Is there a reason SVU is down so much from the last few weeks?

I believe it has a good chance of a 2nd season.
The fact that CBS is developing a few different Sci-Fi based dramas may be a sign that it will be coupled with one of those new shows.

I would not be surprised if Numbers is moved (say to Tuesdays at 10pm) and Fridays become a "Sci-Fi Fridays" for CBS, with GW, Moonlight and a new Series.

We discussed this in the Friday results, and the consensus seems to be that CBS is not going to fix what's not broken by moving Numb3rs from Friday. You can still have a "Sci-Fi"-ish night on CBS; because Numb3rs is heavy on the math, its appeal extends to Sci-Fi fans (at least this one). They've already had a WOW and a comic book episode this season (the latter was phenomenal).

I'm kind of on the fence about Moonlight's renewal. I can see the scenario TV-aholic posits, but I can also see them being reticent to move Numb3rs and just replacing Moonlight with the GW-in-reverse show.

I believe THE UNIT and not MOONLIGHT is SHARK'S competition and I agree with your conclusion. As to when to air THE UNIT, I wouldn't be surprised if it aired in the fall and was replaced by a newbie midseason. This would reduce the number of new dramas CBS rolls out in the fall and I figure there at least 2 if not 3 planned. THE UNIT would give them flexibility in this hour they may not have in the others.

On SVU, alot of people were surprised that the Robin Williams ep didn't do better last week and now as you point out this week. Leaving aside the CSI, MIAMI reruns for a moment, don't rule out the possibility that WMC even with its limited numbers didn't clip SVU a bit.

If this would happen, then Ryan has to leave E! News or his radio job at least. Because he couldn't possibly juggle all the things he does now, Idol, On air with Ryan, American Top 40, E! News, his prod. comp AND Ryan Seacrast Live! (Larry King Live!). He already does so many things.

Whatever one thinks of MOONLIGHT's chances of renewal, let's just say it is far more likely to be renewed than NUMB3RS is likely to be moved to Tuesday or anywhere.

The "NUMB3RS to tuesday" idea has been out there for a few years now with countless opportunities for CBS to move it and they have passed. I consider it an old idea that never was.

I agree, and that's what's stopping me from thinking that Moonlight will be renewed. It has maintained its audience even after the strike-induced hiatus, it wins its timeslot, the PTB seem to like it, and it has a lot of "buzz" (I know that doesn't translate into ratings, but I think CBS likes having a talked-about show). However, its numbers aren't great, it is the weak link on Friday, and if they think the GW-in-reverse show (what is that called? Meant-to-Be's?) is going to be good, that Friday timeslot is its chance.

Marc - this is a case of having to look beyond just the numbers in making predictions. I think that CBS enjoys all of the attention this show is giving them. The ratings are mediocre at best, but the show is talked about more than anything else they have now. CBS will not overlook that when making their renewal decisions. I most definitely would bet on this show returning (add to that that the storyline are getting better and better - particularly since returning from the strike.)
