If a show on any other network pulled in less than 3 million viewers, it would be gone. Period.
I've only seen the first 2 episodes of VM and i didn't like it. But i have to ask u : is that wrong to keep a show even if the ratings are low?
I think I'll come back in an hour and see if the subject has changed... but what I'm expecting to see is approximately 200 posts all devoted to one hourlong dramatic series on the CW which shall remain nameless
Oh I get it, you changed her name from Veronica to Moronica, because Veron sounds like Moron. Wow, that's clever! I get it. That's really clever. You come up with that on your own? Cause it's really clever. Witty, even. You should write for Letterman with that clever wit of yours. Never would have thought that up on my own!
It may not be clever or witty, but then neither is the show.
Since I hate both low-rated piece of crap pet projects and dumb network robots who keep low-rated piece of crap pet projects on the air well past their expiration dates, I look forward to the looming ejection of both VM and DO. Well, that and all the fanboy whining afterwards.
-- "Better Off Ted," Wednesdays at some time or another at some point or another in the near future. Because we can't all live in mansions and not ever work like the people on "Modern Family."
If I may weigh in here, I have personally tried to support this show. But, it's time to jump ship -- it is just not catching on. There is no excuse for ratings this low.

Not wrong. Just dumb.
What's wrong, IMO, is a handful of fans (many of whom think VM isn't nearly as good as it was) insisting nonetheless that their tastes be given preferential treatment over those of other viewers. Many fans of shows that are performing far better than VM will still see their shows canceled this year. And by and large, they won't be throwing nearly as many hissy-fits about it.
We're so split off into tiny viewing niches these days. And that's fine, I guess--but when the niches get too small, they have to be eliminated.
But hey, they can still do VM on access cable, if they want.

Well...I was just wondering why in the world Veronica Mars ratings were so low. I DO NOT watch the show at all, but all I can say is...OUCH! I am not defending the show at all.
I'm still not sure I agree with NBC's Law and Order combo at 9 and 10. While SVU is obviously doing well there, why not try something else at 9, and put CI on in a more vulnerable time period? I know they're pulling 8 million viewers, but it just seems like they should be taking more risks, trying out new things...
Of course, I'm hopped up on cold medicine this morning, so it may be the drugs talking...

Lost Hero's logic is flawed, as neither 7th Heaven nor Gilmore Girls pulls in under 3 million viewers for a non-repeat episode. Any show that pulls in less than 2.5 million viewers (or even 3 million viewers) should be on the chopping block.
There are shows on basic cable that are pulling in those types of numbers. If the shows on the CW can't hack it, they need to be let go. The CW network isn't a charity, it needs to show some growth in the ratings and profit.
I agree, Teela. I think it would be smart for NBC to split up the Law and Order franchise. Put it on another night. How about Wednesdays at 10:00 p.m. after they move Medium back to Mondays at 10:00?
Marc I think that Gilmore Girls should return for a final season. They should promote it as the final season next year and develop the show Gossip Girl to follow it. That should be a good combination. I hate to say it but its time for Veronica Mars to go.
