Imagine if they moved "House" to Thursdays at 9pm, right into the lion's den of Thursday night. That's what they'd really need to do to disrupt things and give the other nets a jolt. It would be interesting to try when "AI" is airing Thursday result shows, to gain a little ground while damaging the enemies (ratings war-speak).

How do you think that battle would turn out...?

But I'm not kidding when I say that if the show goes past five years, I'm gone.

If the producers say that it's going to go six seasons (and don't pull a David Chase), you wouldn't stick around that extra year? Of course, if it continues to snowball downhill, I'm gone too regardless of an end date.

Funny, last week I attempted to talk about House and nobody responded either...it is really strange that there are so many of the 4 million The CW viewers in this community but so few of the 27 million House viewers^^

I don't think House is, or ever will be, strong enough on its own to take down Grey's Anatomy or CSI.

But it could easily dominate Survivor, Ugly Betty, and Earl/The Office (in the demo, at the very least... it was getting whomped in viewers by Dancing with the Stars earlier this season but was still on top in the demo).

And there's the sarcasm again! At least I can take comfort in knowing that I wasn't actually TRYING to be an...uh...jerk, like you apparently were. Thanks for proving my point.

I stick by my original post: if people want to talk about House, they will. Fact is, they DON'T want to, at least not on this forum, so they aren't.

One thing people tend to forget about OTH--it only needs one more year to reach the promised land of the five year syndication package. VM needs TWO more years, and let's get real--never gonna happen. They're both in-house productions, and OTH reaches the younger crowd CW wants, and it's just a no-brainer. Much like VM and OTH themselves.

Yeah, and that plus $4.75 will buy Dawn Ostroff her Starbucks Java Chip Frappucino, or whatever she drinks.

She better program up some better shows, if she wants to go on being able to afford that crap.

Look, I was merely refuting a WRONG statement.

Hi. It stands for Dawn Of The Dead Network. Officially, it's DOTDN. However, the VMFC got together and decided that only the first 2 letters were necessary. It's easier to remember this way. This is because it's the first word of the VMFC motto that all lifetime members chant when staring dreamily at their lifesize posters of KB and drooling uncontrollably - "DO ME! DO ME! DO ME!"

"Better Off Ted," Wednesdays at some time or another at some point or another in the near future. Because we can't all live in mansions and not ever work like the people on "Modern Family."

To be fair, my original comment that '30 Rock' isn't funny included text that it was pulling down the ratings, not only for its own timeslot, but also for ER AND that NBC needed to replace it with something that would complement the Thursday lineup.

This is a board about ratings, right? My comment *was* about ratings until the followup poster removed all references to rating and started talking about his medication problems instead.

Yep, I keep saying that, too (only 13 episodes, actually), but the OTH fans keep moaning about its depressed/depressing ratings vs. Idol. No one seems to pay any attention.

Oh, and Sorcerer8605 - my response to you, the first part, was geniune. The second part was sarcasm directed at the comment earlier in the thread that every post had to end with crying about The CW Big Grin Please join the House discussion that *is* taking place!

Nope. Though ya never know--CSI is aging, and Grey's is a tad inconsistent. Who would have thought Grey's could ever take down CSI? But House has PROBABLY peaked.

Dominate? I doubt that. Come out ahead of? Quite possibly, and definitely in the case of the sitcoms. Ugly Betty is underrated, though--please note, it doesn't HAVE a lead-in.

It will perform strongly in any timeslot, at least for now. I don't see how FOX can know where to put it next season before FOX has decided which other shows are coming back, and which new pilots go to series.

I think that Lost will probably will Adults 18-49, but they will have a run for their money with the other networks, including Medium, CSI: NY and Top Design on Bravo. I think it should have a pretty easy time winning Adults 18-49 though.

I don't know. I can't wait to start watching Lost, so I hope the ratings hold up so I'll have quite a few seasons to watch, when I finally do. I just don't have time to commit to another show right now. LOL. :-)

Yeah, I know it's the number of eps, not seasons, but there's a certain iconic status to a show lasting five full years. Though how many shows ever last exactly five years? Almost always go sooner, or end later.

I disagree. House might be able to capture the demo while Survivor isn't playing, but I don't see House pulling 18-49 viewers away from both Survivor and Earl/Office.
