The CW has answered some questions about how its midseason drama "Life UneXpected" will fit into its Monday night rotation along with new episodes of "One Tree Hill" and "Gossip Girl".
MONDAY (Jan. 18 - March 1, 2010) 8:00 One Tree Hill (new episodes) 9:00 Life UneXpected
MONDAY (March 8 - April 12, 2010) 8:00 Life UneXpected (new time slot) 9:00 Gossip Girl (new episodes)
MONDAY (beginning April 19, 2010) 8:00 One Tree Hill (new episodes) 9:00 Gossip Girl (new episodes)
I honestly think you are the only person in America that has the conspiracy theory that V is a secret, right wing attack on the Obama Administration.
I never said 'secret'--it's pretty blatant. And as for me being the only person--geez, TVfanatic. Is posting on this forum all the websurfing you ever do?

Blessed are the empty of mind, for they shall know--emptiness.
I'm not really surprised by the news, especially considering that "Hank" was the only Wednesday comedy not to be renewed back in October. The pre-emption for "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" kind of just sealed its fate.
Perhaps Kelsey Grammer should move behind the camera since his producing career seems to be doing better than his acting one. His last two post-"Frasier" series, Fox's "Back to You" and "Hank" were both canceled without receiving a full season order (although, to be fair, the writer's strike may have been more to blame for "Back to You" not getting a full season) and both left the air with unaired episodes (3 for "Back to You" and 5 for "Hank").
I am surprised that ABC would opt to keep the canceled "Eastwick" on the air for the remainder of its 13 episode order but yank "Hank" immediately. It seems like the network could have easily burned off those 5 leftover episodes during the doldrums of December when expectations would be minimal.

Seriously--dude--the script comes across as written by Glenn Beck--only not nearly as much fun.
Everyone i know that watched it thought the same as Pisher.
It's not the least bit subtle--I don't honestly see how anyone could miss it. It's possible the showrunner got fired for making it so blatant, and risking a public backlash, but more likely it was because he did such a piss poor job of storytelling.
Analogies between Obama and Naziism have become incredibly commonplace on the right nowadays. His call for young people to serve their communities gets interpreted as his wanting to form his own Hitler Youth. His push for a modest government-run healthcare program that would be nowhere near as comprehensive as that currently found in pretty much the entire western capitalist world--that's him trying to impose a communist dictatorship. Yes, I know they just said he was a Nazi. You expect them to know the difference?
And it hasn't been a case of liberals freaking out over imagined Obama references.
It's been a case of conservatives crowing over the hated mainstream media finally seeing it their way.
The network has canceled Joss Whedon's cult fave, which in May beat the odds with a second-season pickup despite low ratings.
The sci-fi series, which is filming episode 11, is expected to finish its 13-episode order.
After some dismal performance this fall, despite the ratings bumps "Dollhouse" got from DVR viewing, Fox benched the show for the November sweep after four episodes.
It is not clear if Fox will air the remaining episodes starting Dec. 4 as planned.
"Dollhouse" stars Eliza Dushku as a DNA-altered woman who gets implanted false memories for various missions and tasks.
Fox already has picked up breakout freshman dramedy "Glee" for a full season. Freshman comedy "Brothers" is still awaiting its fate, but its chances don't look good.
Might have been ideological, or cynical--probably a mixture of the two. There are a lot more rightwingers in Hollywood than is commonly believed, and genuine committed liberals are actually not so prevalent--a lot of entertainment biz people perceived as liberal are really just closet Libertarians--they want to be able to do whatever they want, and pay lower taxes into the bargain.

Where do you think Dollhouse came from in the first place? A show about cuddly quipping mind-controlling whoremongers. From that noted feminist, Joss Whedon.
When they pulled it for sweeps the outlook wasn't good. I think FOX will go back to airing reality shows and unscripted material on Fridays.

It's definately encouraging that it didn't drop, but there may have been some pre-DWTS tune in that helped. I'll have to see the 15 minute breakdowns for a better analysis.

A more promising sign for ABC is that the program's numbers held steady from their first half hour to the second, both averaging a 3.7.
I'm surprised that Leno doesn't retain more of The Biggest Loser's audience with all the promos during TBL for Leno. Also, Leno has the interview with the booted contestant(s), so fans of the contestants would have an incentive to watch Leno. Promos during TBL show clips of the past week's contestant on Leno and advertises that the contestant(s) that are eliminated will be on Leno right after TBL is over.
To help with the ratings they make TBL fans watch the whole Leno show to see the booted contestants. For example, last night they didn't show the contestant(s) until the final 15 minutes of the Leno show.
I think that Leno would get larger retention if he had a longer interview segment with the eliminated contestants. A 4-minute segment for 2 contestants is NOT going to encourage TBL fans to watch the entire Leno Show.
