How again is V saying that Obama is a Nazi Alien? Because they noted that Americans don't have universal health care and used that as a ploy in their story line to get the people on their sides? I would think that is just doing a good job of relating the story to today's world if anything.
It really makes no sense at all. Most Americans do have healthcare, so they'd just be getting the poor and unemployed and chronically ill Americans--not much of an army--or are they eating them? I haven't been following it that closely. Are sick people a special delicacy for these Visitors?
Most Americans do have health care that they're happy with but its expensive and who the V's will give it to you for free. Isn't the cost the whole reason why we're going through this health care reform stuff? People want to save $$ on health care as employers and families both have other expenses. Oh and the fact that even with coverage, there are certain things that might not get covered? The V's are giving this to them amongst other stuff like cures for illnesses, etc. That's why the people are all salivating at the mouth to become friends of the V's. That and they're stupid, but that's a story for another day.
Well I don't think they do compare to each other. I just felt the story did a nice job of tying in current events to help make the near worshiping of the V's by the people more realistic. Pisher brought in the whole Obama aspect, which in reality, health care is an American issue, not an Obama issue.

Good when compared to previous post-Dancing shows. See Cupid, Boston Legal, SW, etc.

I agree that V has some great potential, so the break is probably a good thing.
Bionic Woman was a creative disaster, a complete misfire of casting, writing, and overall series direction. Even acknowledging that V has a few warts (don't they all) it is off to a much better start creatively than BW.
As far as the unusual break, I don't recall a precedent for this, but on the bright side if a show is any good at all it is kind of hard to jump the shark in 4 eps. Unless the ratings tank over the next two weeks, and I predict they will not tank next week, ABC's commitment to keep the profile of the show high and the type of show it is gives it a good chance to relaunch. This is one case where critic buzz or lack thereof for the next round of eps may be crucial when the time comes.
ABC is setting the precedent for the break with V. It's a risky move, but a smart one. I guess they feel 4 weeks is enough to see if they have a Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles on their hands or not.
Ouch for V. I was expecting a big drop but I was thinking it would stay above a 4 in the demo for its second episode. I think it worked out some kinks in its pacing but it could be so much better. Hopefully, it lives up to its potential. Odd that the Dancing Results show almost does as well as the performance show... Their special did pretty well although I made fun of the questions the lady asked in the commercials... "Is it hard to maintain a relationship..."
Very good numbers for CBS. All three shows had very strong episodes. I wish that Kelly Hu lasted a little longer on NCIS before getting killed but it provided some insight into Vance. I'm surprised that NCIS: LA addressed Callen's shooting so early in the series but it turned into a good episode. The Good Wife was also a vast improvement over last week.
So You Think You Can Dance is very disappointing. I'm surprised that it didn't even grow a lot throughout the two hours like The Biggest Loser.
The Biggest Loser does very well. It beat NCIS: LA in the demo! Wow. The Jay Leno Show does nothing with its lead in. How many of you think that slotting a comedy after TBL would work? I think its a good idea considering TBL is one of NBC's biggest shows.
Has 90210 always gotten around a 1.2 in the demo? Actually seems a little decent. Of course Melrose Place is dead. I don't think even the power of Heather Locklear can save it.

Honestly, I don't even think its American Idol that is the problem. Remember last year/season? TBL, NCIS and AI all survived with very good ratings. I think its the overall strong shows that already sucked up most of the demo. V will have a tough time carving out and keeping its audience against 3 other very strong shows.

How about the kids being lured in to join some kind of voluntary Visitor Youth Service Corp--which of course will turn out to be MANDATORY. THE OBAMA-NAZI-ALIEN WANTS OUR YOUNG!!!!
Seriously--dude--the script comes across as written by Glenn Beck--only not nearly as much fun.

I'm not so sure that that is the case. But even if most Americans do have health care....ther still leaves a large number of people who don't. And there is no reason for it!
So, its OK to suck, just not as bad as the previous show???

Most Americans have healthcare they can live with, that still needs major improvement to get up to the standard of the UK, France, or Canada. That doesn't mean they're going to troop en masse into some alien compound. It's a dumb idea, from a science fiction perspective. And that's because it's not science fiction--it's clumsy political satire, written by people with a very obvious axe to grind.

Part of it, but the other big issue is paying for healthcare for years, and then having your insurance company suddenly decide you have a 'pre-existing condition', and invalidating your coverage.

A much lower-rated story, I might add.
But never, at any time, a well-told one.
As we can see from a demo drop almost precisely the same as Week 2 of Bionic Woman.
C'mon, mushu--you could give me some props for that. I looked stuff up. You really ought to try it sometime. Like for example, I did a ten second google search and came up with this--
While I liked the second episode, it wasn't as exciting as the pilot. I didn't think a lot happened story-wise.

Still... per MediaLife, the show did not dip from the first to the second half hour - which is a promising sign for the future.
I have it on my DVR, but haven't watched it yet. How was the quality compared to the pilot? (which I thought was terrific.)
