CSI: Miami => less science. a bit more of a rough justice, slight right wing tinge
CSI: NY => cooky, quirkly and highly unrealistic over the top cases (stockexchange brokers play samurai and walk up the walls Matrix style, woman mistakes guy for alien and keeps him captive)
CSI: LV => Used to have a much stronger focus on science and a nostalgic "live and let live" message featuring a lot of murders in strange subcultures (midgets, trans-sexuals, people with a baby fetish, people with a werewolf disease where hair grows all over them, rodeo riders).
It's true that they are mostly different flavors, but many people enjoy one and might not care as much about the others.

You are assuming that people who appear on shows like this are members of the species Homo sapiens. I remain unconvinced that they in fact are.

Agree the science receded into the background on CSI and MIAMI
A few of the NY's I watched last year almost had a tongue-in-cheek tone
Personally I shifted among them and would be surprised if CSI and CSI MIAMI had a large common audience

There's no way SCC is getting renwed if it drps below 7 million. And it will do just that next week
Next week is the 2 hour season finale. If anything, I bet it rebounds a bit.
The 2 hour finale, which looks to have a high action/bodycount format, should rebound in the ratings. If it is over 9 million viewers for the finale, it should be renewed. If it is under 8 million viewers, it should be cancelled. Either way, how it does has no bearing on Prison Break's 'worthiness' of renewal.

Why would it be reported in German before it's reported in English??
No Idea, maybe an insider. But TV Guide reports that "some bubble show" got renewed (here) (That could be ER)
Based on Ausiello's comment's, that could be several shows, including Bionic Woman or October Road -- those would shock me a lot more than the renewal of ER. I'm personally rooting for WMC, which already got a partial reprieve earlier this week.
Bottom line -- I wouldn't count on ER being renewed until I read it from a credible US industry site (Variety, Hollywood Reporter, mediaweek [I added this one just for Marc ], etc)...

I wouldn't call ER as being in "the first stage of rigor mortis". So either he is not in touch with the TV environment, or its not ER.
There was a post that guessed Bionic Woman as the renewed series. I can see NBC doing something like that. Hell, they've kept 30 Rock & Scrubs on this long.
If the discription of "the first stage of rigor mortis" is correct, then the shows that fall into that category, from the big 3, are.... Cane Bionic Woman Journeyman Cavemen Carpoolers Big Shots Friday Night Lights Las Vegas

While Pussycat Dolls did managed to build considerably out of the Gossip Girl repeat, comparably it was down significantly from year-ago occupants Girlfriends and The Game (2.1/ 3 each on Feb. 26, 2007).
Gossip Gilr is a weak repeater compared with Reaper. I still think this makes Reaper the strongest new show on CW.
Not fair to compare PCD with last year's comedy lineup. This year, the comedies were much weaker than they were last year. PCD is about on par with their recent Monday numbers. Still, PCD is probably unworthy of another season.

But what else could it be? Bionic Woman, Octobor Road? Seriously? Maybe FNL (Big Maybe!). But quite a few people didn't believe that ER would get another season. It would be a small surprise.
