When you get that promotion during the second most watched show of the history, when you get a 40 million lead-in for the premiere, when you have advirtsing all over the media and after 6 episode you draw 7 million viewers that spells disaster
Actually I think what is spells is with a few rare exceptions like X-FILES...you cannot get SCI FI to fly on the mainstream broadcast networks. Hell even X-FILES was low rated when it first came on but some how it "popped" and shot up in huge popularity. If FOX has bailed on that show it would have lost one of its major hits.

Even if SCC does not return, Fox is still in better shape than any other net next fall. I could easily see them perhaps pairing Bones and Prison Break on Mondays with just one drama next fall. Reality fillers Trading Spouses and Nanny 911 could return on Fridays.

I don't agree. X-FILES started without all the hype and promotion that SCC had. And X-FILES started with low ratings. SCC started with big ratings. If the people would've liked the show they wouldn't have run away from it. They're not coming back

Mediums numbers should spike back up next week when it gets its DOND lead in back. For the last 2 weeks NBC aired that Dad show at 9, but next week it moves to 8 with DOND going back to 9.

Granted its lead in dropped, but it was pulling better results on Wed. against Lost last year. Still, in NBC's current position, I think it should stay on Mondays next fall after Heroes. Use the 8pm Monday slot to launch something new like Robinson Crusoe. Chuck can go to Wed. at 8 leading into DOND and L&O. Thursday can feature the comedy block and a compatible looking new drama (something with action to fit with the male skewing Office viewership at 9). New drama takes Tuesdays at 9 with Fridays going to two game or reality shows and Life.

I agree -- SCC had the visibility X-Files would have dreamed for, and didn't capitalize. Obviously the audience, including sci-fi fans (of which I am one), have rejected SCC.

I think they are going to bring back SCC. I still say they should put it on Sunday nights at 8 for a fall run, followed by Prison Break at 9. I believe the animated comedies ratings have fallen this year. And SCC would have a NFL powered lead in half the time in the fall. Sunday nights have such female oriented programs (except for Sunday night football) now, so this would be a very nice change.

Agreed.

It is disappointing to see Medium's numbers drop again, but I still contend that it is not the quality of the show, but rather NBC's poor programming skills and the consistent lack of promotion for the show. NBC seems to have a "sink or swim" mentality towards Medium, and basically leaves it to thrive or die on its own, while throwing all of their resources behind promoting such crap as "My Dad is Better than Your Dad". That's why the network is going down the drain.
I still believe that Medium can draw much better ratings on Mondays than it drew last season on Wednesdays against Lost. But the network is dragging itself down with all of this reality crap that they keep trying to shove on the air, and they're pulling down their quality shows with them. I think it's about time for Medium to cut itself loose from that disaster and go to a network that will support it.
At this point, it seems that all Silverman is doing is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

Valid points but where do you put the animated comedies?

But now you know why I was insisting that the BONES-to-friday was jumping the gun a bit.
