-Ratings Breakdown: ABC opened the week on a winning note care of the made-for remake of classic A Raisin in the Sun at a solid 12.71 million viewers and a 3.6/ rating/9 share among adults 18-49 from 8-11 p.m. A Raisin in the Sun finished first from 9-11 p.m. as follows:
A Raisin in the Sun (ABC) 8:00 p.m. Viewers: 11.59 million (#2), A18-49: 3.1/ 9 (#2) 8:30 p.m. Viewers: 12.23 million (#2), A18-49: 3.5/ 9 (#3) 9:00 p.m. Viewers: 13.59 million (#1), A18-49: 4.0/10 (#1) 9:30 p.m. Viewers: 13.23 million (#1), A18-49: 3.8/ 9 (#1) 10:00 p.m. Viewers: 13.02 million (#1), A18-49: 3.7/10 (#1) 10:30 p.m. Viewers: 12.58 million (#1), A18-49: 3.5/10 (#1)
Second overall was NBC care of Deal or No Deal (Viewers: #1: 15.33 million; A18-49: #1, 4.2/11), week two of reality/competition My Dad is Better Than Your Dad (Viewers: #3: 7.81 million; A18-49: #3, 2.8/ 7), and deteriorating drama Medium (Viewers: #3, 7.60 million; A18-49: #2, 2.6/ 7). Compared to it’s week-ago debut (Viewers: 9.81 million; A18-49: 3.5/ 8 on Feb. 18), My Dad is Better Than Your Dad dropped by 2.21 million viewers and 20 percent among adults 18-49. And the retention out of Deal or No Deal was just 50 percent in total viewers and 67 percent among adults 18-49. So, yes…that makes it a “loser.”
CBS had what you could call a typical 1st quarter Monday with its combination of a repeat of How I Met Your Mother (Viewers: #4, 6.29 million; A18-49: #4, 2.1/ 6), waiting-to-be-axed Welcome to The Captain (Viewers: #4, 5.34 million; A18-49: #4, 1.8/ 5), a repeat of Two and a Half Men (Viewers: #2, 12.18 million; A18-49: #2, 3.9/10), The New Adventures of Old Christine (Viewers: #2, 9.09 million; A18-49: #2, 3.0/ 7), and a repeat of CSI: Miami (Viewers: #2, 8.69 million; A18-49: #3, 2.5/ 7). Retention for Old Christine out of the Two and a Half Men encore was a disappointing 75 percent in viewers and 77 percent among adults 18-49. Fans of former 9:30 p.m. occupant Rules of Engagement will be happy to know that it will be returning this spring with four new episodes.
Fox opened the evening with a Monday edition of The Moment of Truth (Viewers: #3, 8.59 million; A18-49: #2, 3.6/10), which lost steam minus its recent American Idol lead-in (but was a stronger option than recent occupant Prison Break), and 9 p.m. time period warmer Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (Viewers: #4, 7.12 million; A18-49: #4, 2.7/ 7). For my thoughts on The Moment of Truth (and I have plenty to say!), listen to today’s PIPodcast at www.marcberman.tv. Last, of course, was an encore telecast of the CW’s Gossip Girl (Viewers: #5, 1.28 million; A18-49: #5, 0.6/ 2), followed by week two of Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious (Viewers: #5, 1.72 million; A18-49: #5, 0.8/ 2). While Pussycat Dolls did managed to build considerably out of the Gossip Girl repeat, comparably it was down significantly from year-ago occupants Girlfriends and The Game (2.1/ 3 each on Feb. 26, 2007).
SCC has sprung a leak. And while MoT performed okay, especially in the demo, it's clear that its big-time success was primarily due to AI. But it's done well enough away from it to get a second season. SCC probably is doing bad enough to not get one, especially considering its production costs.
I think SCC will still get renewed unless next Monday's finale drops even more. Kudos to A Raisin in the Sun, DOND, and 2.5 Men. The rest.. blah. Moment of Truth did alright but I still don't see this being a long term contender.

There's no way SCC is getting renwed if it drps below 7 million. And it will do just that next week

Next week is the 2 hour season finale. If anything, I bet it rebounds a bit.
SCC is doomed, renewal or no renewal. If they give it a few more eps to prove what anybody with eyes can already see--well, it's their money, and they can throw it away any old way they like.
FOX may feel like they can't openly admit the show's failure right away, after having spent so much money producing and promoting it--particularly since they frittered away so much invaluable Superbowl time trying to boost it.
But to spend all that money, time, and effort for fourth place--on Monday night--and for a show that can't even hang into the lead-in provided it by Moment of Truth--sanity might just prevail here. We shall see.
so sad I'm really enjoying SSC and finally talked my dad into checking it out last night.
nuts! I'll enjoy the finale next week (if they do decide to renew it would be a wonderful surprise, but not counting on it) Does anyone know if the finale next week can serve as series finale or will it have a forever cliffhanger?
Checked out MOT I just can't believe that's not fake there is no way a spouse would sit there during that and be with them at the end. I would be clawing at my husband but I guess that's just me.
I think that it can get over 7-8 million viewers. Competition should be weaker with no DOND super million dollar cases and CBS repeats. Does DWTS start next monday? I actually think the show is pretty solid considering it's based of a movie. It's got me interested and has some nice twist and turns in it. It's a lot better than My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Ferris Bueller, or many other movie to TV series. Maybe it cost a lot to produce, but like PB, it might have DVD sales and overseas viewers as well that might make it worth while for FOX. Still disappointing numbers with the lead-in and adverstising from football playoffs. MOT did decent. Didn't expect too much more than that going against DOND. Can DOND just give away the million bucks so we won't have to see it 3-4 hours on primetime and during the day next season. That is a waste of a show but people watch it...oy vay.

I actually don't care if SCC gets canceld or not. But knowing FOX i'll be shocked to see SSC returning next season. After all is probably the second biggest bomb of the season(if not the first).
When you get that promotion during the second most watched show of the history, when you get a 40 million lead-in for the premiere, when you have advirtsing all over the media and after 6 episode you draw 7 million viewers that spells disaster
As an advocate of the "no excuses" school of ratings, I am calling out one of my favorites MEDIUM for a 2.5mm TA .7 demo drop from season high on 1/21/08. Period.
