Marc, what was the real reason that Commander in Chief's original showrunner stepped down from the project, Rod Lurie? He also was responsible for the very good 2000 film, "The Contender".

TV ratings data for the Academy Awards since 1953 now online! Check them out now!
FOX might have something in Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader on Friday nights starting next week. They could be what COPS and AMW does for Saturdays fixing the FOX Friday problem.
The NFL might be on its way to one hell of a ratings season. By looking at the affiliate results NBC did a good job in markets outside of DC and central Florida against a heavy amount of local pre-season games.
Thanks for the data, Zedman2. Any chance Nielsen will release data on 'unique' viewers rather than the sometimes doubled 'viewership' that exists when people channel flip?
Aside from that, the most intereting note is that politics are definitely going to be a big deal for Fall TV...conventions, debates, and last minute commercial saturation.
A Biden-Palin debate wil be interestimg. Too bad Biden didn't participate in a beauty contest, the ratings would've been even greater

Wasn't Mr. Lurie relieved of his producer duties for the tardy delivery of episodes to the network? I seem to remember he had the same difficulties delivering a quality product in a timely way that ABC's 'Moonlighting' experienced a few decades ago.
Going into tonight's Jaws Encore Mini-Marathon on MyNetworkTV (Jaws on Friday, Jaws 2 on Saturday), MyNetworkTV is not enjoying quite the lofty four-day numbers that it had at this point last week. Going into its premiere week kicking off Labour Day, The CW has regained it's hold on fifth place, as indicated by the following four-day numbers:

Veteran TV producer Steven Bochco ("N.Y.P.D. Blue") has been tapped to take over the showrunning duties on the freshman drama, following creator Rod Lurie's decision to step aside to focus on developing other projects through his Battle Plan Productions banner. It's understood Lurie was also having trouble delivering episodes on time, a fact supported by the show's listings often being late. In any case, Lurie will still serve as an executive producer on the series as he works on his new two-year overall deal with producer Touchstone Television. As for Bochco, the newly Touchstone-based producer will take over the day-to-day operations on the show beginning this week.
