I agree, it looks like summer is over.
That Big Brother number will likely drop quite a bit without New York City (even if some New Yorkers diligently avoided the spoilers and watched it when it aired later).
Ya but even a big drop will still keep it in the upper 6 million viewer range (low 7 million viewer range if we get lucky).
Big Brother was also preempted in the Detroit market last night - I can't stand preseason football preempting everything. It ended up airing at 3am, but I just watched it On Demand.
Preseason football preemptions are taking a bite out of everything this week, even the major networks. CW, of course, is getting it worst on their reruns. Sitcomsonline.com had the finals for Tuesday. Smallville dropped 500,000 viewers down to 1.41 million and Reaper dropped almost 800,000 down to 1.64 million from 2.41 million. Getting preempted out of three major markets will do that. I wonder what last night's ratings really were.

The CW was getting hurt by baseball, though, not football.

Remind me again...Supernatural fan? The Smallville/Reaper numbers were noted as sports inflated several days ago when Douglas posted the local market data.

Was CW preempted in any markets last night? Football apparently interrupted some CBS, ABC, and FOX markets. We should see finals in a few more hours.
Is it me, or do you get the feeling whenever Dan is talking in the diary room, he talks like a football coach briefing reporters after the big game?
For some reason, I'm wondering how BB and CBS are going to handle the situation with Hurricane Gustav, particularly if it causes damage in the New Orleans area. Renny Martyn's family lives in nearby Metairie (according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, and I'm curious if CBS will leave her in the dark about this. We may see a repeat of the 9/11 -- BB2 controversy, particularly if one of her family members is specifically affected by the storm.
Look i'm not even all that interested in politics but 40 million for Obama is plain crazy. I mean it's almost half of the SB and doubles anything else you see in TV during the year.
What kind of numbers nomination speeches pull. Any idea about the cumulative number for the State of The Union adress?

Yaeh right, just what i was thinking. How will Gustav affect BB? I can't sleep thinking about it

I think these numbers are inflated by the fact that a person switching between channels will count as a viewer for multiple networks. Has anyone seen data on UNIQUE viewers?
Yeah, I really don't see the interest in Obama. I mean, I was more excited about the Clintons' speeches Tuesday and Wednesday than I was about Obamas. I just don't see it, and I'm a Democrat.
Now that McCain has picked Palin, though, I have no clue who I'm gonna be voting for. It's a tough election.
