I think ABC should focus their effort on Tuesday and Wednesday comedy blocks in order for their comedies (some of them which sound quite good)to get maximum exposure. I think it's just a case of finding the right shows on Friday that makes their current Friday idea work.
However, if they do bring back scripted fare on Fridays, I could see something like Captain Cook's Extraordinary Atlas placed on Fridays.

ABC, I'm going to say this every week until they bring back TGIF. Those numbers for their mediocre reality shows were god awful. Its great to be cheap with your programming and all, but I would rather struggle with originals financially with better viewer and demo numbers then give up on the entire night. People love to watch ABC on Fridays if given a reason to and some new multi-cam family comedies can do that for them.
I agree with you that the comedies need to be on a Tuesday or Wednesday night with higher-hut levels. I think they'd be better off doing that first instead of a Friday block of comedies, but in the long run they should move some there and have two comedy nights during the weeks. Maybe as I said before Disney Channel programming Fridays like ESPN does for college football season on Saturdays.
Either way the shows are guaranteed to perform better than their reality fare taking up two valuable prime time hours every week.
WMC produced way better ratings and demos than the ratings their getting with WS and SN. ABC made excuses after excuses for canceling ABC and I don't want to hear them.

Sure the viewers are higher, but the demo is almost the same. Plus WS and SN are cheaper to make.

CBS' decision to keep the original Numb3rs episode at 10:00 probably has more to do with ad dollars more than anything else. It's simply easier for them to keep the ad rates already committed for 9:00 and 10:00 than to go back to the advertisers to negotiate a new deal for a new Numb3rs episode at 9:00.

In the land of Bluelick, the demo is 2-64, and advertisers are muppets and love to sell diapers to 8, 16, 32, and 58 year olds all at once. Forget the fact that virtually no programs actually get this much of a significant wide skewing audience.

5th Grader had very good numbers last night - up from what it normally did in the past in the slot. Lyrics was down, though, although with a better demo - the only reason I'd say it was down because it was almost like the 2nd part of a two-parter.
