And I'm not a procedural fan, they bore me to death, but I love Bones. To each his own....
BONES SETS THE MARK FOR WEDNESDAYS @ 8pm THE FALL's TOUGHEST NEW TIMESLOT
The real first test of the season to me was going to be the performance of Bones. Bones has proved by going over 10 million viewers that it is a force to be reckon with this season in that tough Wednesday @ 8pm timeslot. This wasn't easy for Bones as it had to face the NBC hit Got Talent and beat it, which is the first show to beat Talent all year long. Thank you Bones for making my first right prediction of the new season. LOL!
Predictions for Wednesdays @ 8pm: 1.) Bones (9-10 million, 3.3 demo) 2.) Knight Rider (8 million, 3.1 demo) 3.) CBS Comedies (8 million, 2.6 demo) 4.) Pushing Daises (7 million, 2.7 demo) 5.) America's Next Top Model (3.5 million, 1.6 demo)
Note: ABC is throwing DWtS on 9/24 and Pushing Daises on 10/1 so expect a huge return for PD.
America's Next Top Model seems to be slipping hard, but its on par with last season a little bit. My friend said this season is a huge improvement over the last one so it might spike up in the coming weeks. It looks like The CW will be getting behind 90210 as its franchise show.
The CW's (and FOX's) decisions to open their fall skeds three weeks ahead of ABC, CBS and NBC (and five weeks ahead of MyNetworkTV) is paying nice dividends. After 3 days of Week 50, The CW finds itself sitting in a very uncustomary strong third place in A18-49, and running a close fourth in viewers:

Except it didn't actually get 10 mil in the 8-9 slot.

You're right, but 9 or 10 million doesn't really make a difference when you're over the new standard this season, which is 7 million this year compared to 8 million last year. DVR has alot to do with the change.

The CW is hoping to gain some traction over the next two to three weeks before baseball playoffs kick in (throwing FOX's schedule into a mess) and the other nets kick off their fall season. It could very well be a strong play with the redeveloped network if they can catch some new eyes to bring to the network. Even more eyes when that men's demo runs away to watch baseball.
And The CW really did not brand itself as redeveloped coming out of last season. But if you look at the facts, it really has. First they jettison male/low income/low synergy Smackdown for 90210, Privledged, Stylista and now they are playing hard to the female demo records they are setting over the first week so far. They are really trying to embrace the WB style without saying that is what they are doing.
I think Sundays will be doing fine, despite what most think. They will probably perform around that 2.5 million mark which is an improvement. And it has the potential to grow a little bit if the shows capture that bigger non targeted demo. It all comes down to Fridays, which as a given is going to be very harsh. Just depends on if comedies will gain traction there or not.
Anyone know how the WB comedies were doing on Friday?

I thought the episode was very good. Not the best ever, but good.
10 Million was about the peak it was doing last season, so if it can build upon that number, Bones should have a really good season.

Since you are a procedural fan, I don't see how you dont like BONES. Its fun to watch.
But how is the Govenor of Alaska "nothing more than a reality TV star"??? Could we say the same about ANY Candidate then?

2. Great numbers for the RNC. Not a surprise there, after all americans go crazy about reality TV and Palin is nothing more than a reality TV star.
I don't see Bones growing much just because the competition should increase in coming weeks but this is most certainly a positive sign. A strong showing this fall on Wednesday will all but guarantee it moves to Friday come midseason. If the Monday shows fail this fall, it could go there or we could see it staying put (this would be the best scenario after being moved so many times) and House could then stay on Tuesdays at 9 come midseason.

FOX won't have their first Post Season game until abot the 2 week in October. The most they will have is 14 games over 2 series. (NLCS and the World Series).
While I'm not a fan, Bones is not a bad show. Better than most procedurals including the Closer on TNT if you ask me. Agree as well about Sarah Palin, who apparently got the interest of a lot of people judging by last night's convention numbers. Those are better than most nights so far including last week's Democratic convention.
