No, I am a Comcast customer, so no blackout for me.

However, from what I understand, LIN TV is not in the best of shape, financially, so they are attempting to get a nice chunck of change from one of their bigger carriers to boost revenues.

Yea, you'd think they would go after Comcast too, but apparently, there is not a lot of crossover of subscribers/viewers between Comcast and LIN TV stations

Well after a bit of research I can tell you SN had a huge female audience during Season 1 (after Gilmore Girls) where on one episode that seems typical of its performance it had a 2.7 female and 1.7 male in the 18-49 demo.

A 2.7 in women 18-34, men 18-34 1.9.

So I imagine that after airing there for its first 16 episodes it got known as having a much larger female audience.

But it appears once it moved to Thursday it lost a huge chuck of that female demo. And ever since the male/female audience has been fairly close (with it usually equal or off by 1 tenth of a point favoring the male audience, it will be curious if the push overall for more female viewers will actually translate to more females watching.

I liked it. Winsome characters, sharp writing. It really seems like more of a CW than a CBS show, though.

I fear it won't get high enough numbers for CBS. The CW should open a dialogue with the producers of this show, and prepare to pick this one up on the rebound.

Well, Wrestlemania was a repeat of the PPV even earlier this summer.
No real surprise at those numbers. Good considering the network and the program

Or those females are watching time shifted due to Greys. That's my guess. I think Supernatural would actually benefit from moving to Tuesdays at 9pm but considering how the CW will need a Thursday anchor here soon, I doubt that happens. Here's to a solid ratings for both Supernatural and Reaper here soon.

Dumont, please don't take this the wrong way, but the Ex List has now officially been doomed. Wink

Justin where are you getting this info. The info from this site has for Fast NAtionals for Smallville to be the same, 4.56 and a 1.8 in adults 18-49. But Supernatural Fast National for 10/04/07 was 2.97 million viewers and an adult demo of 1.2. I think that you read the original post wrong. The 3.34 and 1.5 listed was for supernatural the year earlier here is the quote:

and the third-season premiere of the CW’s Supernatural (Viewers: #5, 2.97 million; A18-49: #5, 1.2/ 3). One year-earlier, and opposite baseball on Fox, Supernatural averaged 3.34 million viewers and a 1.5/ 4 in the demo. Retention for Supernatural out of Smallville was a typical 65 percent in total viewers and 67 percent in the demo. Give the competition in the 9-10 p.m., this is definitely livable for the CW.

Now I would have loved that for last year, but Supernatural never reached those levels last year in either Fast Nationals or Finals.

All my info is fast nationals daily to be compared with Marc's fast nationals because some days the finals aren't quite posted yet.

If The Ex-List was a CBS Studios or Warner Bros. production, there might be some chance of a move to CW. However, the show is coming from 20th Century FOX. It will die unless CBS can find a bunch of non-CBS viewers to port over for the show. CBS didn't have much luck doing that for Moonlight, so don't expect the outcome to be different with Ex-List.

that is good. The thought of you without CBS...curled in a ball in the corner crying. Wink

I wish people would get their act together and join Douglas' weekly PIF ratings game.
Game here: http://pifeedback.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/47810812/m/935104461
This game is a lot of fun and if people joined, Douglas would start posting the individual market data again. It would be very interesting to see the CBS market data for Indianapolis this week so we could see just how much a drop CBS will have by being kicked off of the Time Warner cable feed. That data should offer some insight into how willing people are to switch from cable to the over-the-air signal if they have to.

The message board are filled with negative comments after watching Ex List, exactly mirroring this one. Ex List was just a burn off to fill a slot. I don't think they expect it to become a long term player. Just something to tie up a few holding contracts and loose ends.

The project always was a favorite of the network, much like Worst Week. Now why either was a favorite, who knows. Much better pilots were rejected for them. Showrunner Diane Ruggiero has already bailed, stating that CBS wanted to control it to the point that it sucked.
