-Saturday’s Losers (excluding repeats): The night overall
-Ratings Breakdown: CBS led Saturday on the strength of the ongoing NCAA Basketball tournament, but ratings were down to some degree from the comparable year-ago match-ups. NCAA Basketball averaged an estimated 9.30 million viewers with a 3.0 rating/11 share among adults 18-49 from 8-9:30 p.m. The year-ago average for basketball on Saturday, March 25, 2006 was an approximate 9.69 million viewers and a 3.4/12 in the demo.
Also on CBS were two episodes of 48 Hours Mystery, which netted an approximate 7.22 million viewers and a 2.2/ 7 among adults 18-49 from 9:30-11 p.m. (results in the 10:30 p.m. half-hour were not available).
NBC and Fox shared the No. 2 and 3 spots, respectively, with NBC second in total viewers and third among adults 18-49 and Fox just the opposite. Dateline opened the evening for NBC with a typically modest 5.88 million viewers (#2) and a 1.5/ 5 (#3) among adults 18-49 at 8 p.m., followed by repeats of Law & Order (Viewers: #2, 7.14 million; A18-49: #3, 1.7/ 6) and Law & Order: Criminal Intent (Viewers: #2, 7.60 million; A18-49: #2, 2.0/ 7) from 9-11 p.m. Fox, of course, ran its perennial combination of Cops (Viewers: #3, 5.22 million; A18-49: #2, 1.8/ 7) and America’s Most Wanted (Viewers: #3, 6.11 million; A18-49: #1, 2.1/ 7).
ABC’s combination of repeat special Celebrity Debut (Viewers: #4, 2.77 million; A18-49: #4, 0.7/ 3) and repeat theatrical Coyote Ugly (Viewers: #4, 4.13 million; A18-49: #4, 1.6/ 5 from 9-11 p.m.) finished in the distant last-place position in every half hour. All together now…what a night!
I watched a tiny bit of Coyote Ugly last night, and it was laughably melodramatic.
If your going to do a movie about a bunch of hot girls dancing on bar tops, do a movie about a bunch of hot girls dancing on bar tops. Don't do a movie about a singer with dreams who just can't get her big break...boo hoo wah wah.

I don't see why CBS or Fox would have any insentive to change based on last night. Of course, CBS won't always have the basketball. Still, I would be very surprised to see a major change from either network, on Saturdays, any time soon.
Also, please note that in Game #18, there is a duplicate roster submitted so please check it out the discussion thread there before the deadline to see if your roster is still valid.
Finally, just one more day to vote in this week's bracket matchups.
The ABC Saturday Night Movie selections have been very weak this season, with many tired, over-repeated titles in the mix. Is the Disney-Beuna Vista-Touchstone library of theatricals really so limited? What about all those one-run miniseries and television movies?
The only other network that programs a movie night is MyNetworkTV, and they have been much more adventurous in their mix of theatricals, with a heavy bent towards the indie fare that normally pops up on Sundance or IFC.
That 0.7 A18-49 for the third network run of Celebrity Debut is a truly appalling number for a major broadcast network. I scoured back through my records, and I cannot see a number that low for ABC-CBS-NBC ever before...not in summer, not on Christmas Eve, not even The One The Making of a Music Starred crashed and burned that badly. Even the last episode of The CW's Runaway rated better than that.
Numbers like that, which have been too common for ABC on Saturdays in 2007, are the type that will soon have ABC talked about in comparisons to MyNetworkTV. A18-49 numbers at 0.7 will also cause (or already have caused) widespread affiliate defections.
This Monday morning, Mr. McPherson must assemble his programming team for an early AM re-think what they are offering up on Saturdays. A 0.7 in April will start to look good when it drops to 0.3 or 0.4 in the summer. ABC seems to be on a mission to chase viewers away from Saturday night altogether.

It was just a special. Its not like ABC will be airing it every week.

Yeah, I wouldn't compare it to MyNetworkTV yet but airing Coyote Ugly is a joke. They could at least air a **good** movie.

Perhaps Rocky 5 would be better. That's what MNTV likes to air.

LOL. That is why it cannot be compared to MyNetworkTV. Rocky 1 would be a much better choice.
