The Price Is Right (Viewers: #2, 7.69 million; A18-49: #2, 1.8/ 5) Boston Legal (Viewers: #3, 6.37 million; A18-49: #3, 1.5/ 4)
Man oh man is that Boston Legal becoming more and more lead in dependant. Significantly less competition yet loses viewers. Kudos however to The Price Is Right once again.
I agree. CSI:NY would be doing as low if not worse than BL had it had to contend with all the scheduling and lead in problems BL has had in the past 4 seasons. And what does the Price is Right have to do with anything?
The loss of viewers is referencing Week to week, and was just a copy and paste of mushu's post.
I placed TPiR next to it to compair how low BL has dropped. TPiR is in a much lower HUT slot, against AI, and no leadin. Yet, managed to out perform a SEASON FINALE of BL.
Blame the chimps all you want, people only "watch" BL only after they have fallen asleep to the previous ABC bore-fest.
good point, I think someone is going to have to tell Simon the same advice he was told when Leona Lewis won X-Factor (or wahtever its called), and that is, 'dont screw this up'.
The key is to let Cook be who he is and not change him. That means they have to let him pick his band, and create a record the sounds a lot like Our Lady Peace and Switchfoot. For, he is the most bankable idol since Daughtry and they need to capatilize on that...

As for the ratings, being that the best person won for the first time since Carrie Underwood, I think this means that the show might spike up a bit in ratings next year
Agreed. This was a fabulous win, and it seems Cook is ready to skyrocket if he and the label make the right choices.
Season 5, while not producing a commercially successful winner, did have a very popular winner and cast, and bumped up the beginning of the following year. I'd imagine the same thing happening again leading out of this year.
I cannot believe that the morons at ABC are preempting Lost finale for Grey's Freaking Lobotomy If this was the last day of sweeps I could have understood them wanting to run the bigger hit but the sweeps are over and I think grey's fans probably won't mind waiting an extra for their finale. Preempting the Lost finale and then airing it 1 week after the "official" end of season is just crazy, I think it will take a huge hit in ratings. Fox tried to do the same thing with House last year and it took a massive hit in ratings. Speaking of sweeps couldn't ABC have come up with a way of airing these two big finales during sweeps? They would easily beaten CBS for the demo which they apparently lost/tied.
Sad thing is that ABC didn't get to air EITHER finale during sweeps, which ended last night.

If Lost follwers don't watch next week beacause the season has "oficially" endend (what's that BTW?) than it means people don't care about the show.
BL's numbers are, and i'm being kind, pathetic. And if the fans cry it has no lead-in, let me tell you this: if a show in its 4th season still need a lead-in it is time to let it go. BL made the right decision only renweong it for 13 episodes
The one thing Different about BL and CSI: NY is that CSI: NY can & has built on its audience from is powerhouse leadin.
The Only think BL can build on from is reruns & According to Jim, if its lucky

I agree...
At this point Boston Legal should be cancelled.
I mean not even 7 million viewers and 1.5 in the demo suck.
Do you really think the average viewer knows the sweeps schedule? I doubt it.

Haha. Its lead in only dropped a good 2 million week to week and lost 50% in the demo. ABC's chimp-like scheduling has really taken its toll on the show.
So, the only people tuning in are the old farts that fall asleep to DWTS and leave the TV on?
Maybe, but that audience falls in the high income group:
quote:
ABC is the No. 1 network in the non-sports numbers on two of Nielsen's other upscale measures, including Adults 18-49 with 4+ Years of College and Professionals or Managers earning $100K+ Annual Income. ABC's "Lost" reports the highest annual median income for a broadcast series this season among young adults ($78K), tied with NBC's "The Office." With an annual median income of $73K for their respective young adult audiences, the Network's "Grey's," "Housewives," "Private Practice," "Boston Legal" and "Eli Stone" all tie with the second-highest median incomes on network TV this season.

ABC isn't pre-empting the LOST finale for GA. The LOST finale wasn't due to complete post-production untill today and that's the reason it won't air till next week.
There was a great documentary on PBS, Wednesday May 21st at 9pmET, called "Depression:Out of the Shadows". Do you know what the ratings were on the program?
