I'm also looking forward to Wipeout. It looks like fun summer entertainment.

Although one show on ABC looked interesting -- wipeout. Why don't they just resurrect Battle of the network stars?
BTW -- did anyone see the hilarious commercials of guitar hero with the two davids doing tom cruise in risky business -- HILARIOUS, LOVED IT.
Hooray for the lowest common denominator and Idol. A true pillar in contemporary American popular culture.
I am though proud of Criminal Minds, which drew the viewers who refused to check their brains at the door with a great season finale. Once again this sweeps season, it seems like a character (is it a regular or just recurring?) bought a farm. The only show I really wanted characters to drop dead in is Grey's Anatomy, but according to what I hear, no luck.

Anyways, it doesn't matter -- they will both get record deals and both will be successful. I almost feel like cook winning is almost a curse because sometimes winning doesn't translate well to success -- both 3rd place Elliot Yamin and 4th place Daughtry are more successful at record sales than Taylor Hicks and Katherine McPhee -- and both of them had their record labels drop them.
BTW, both davids will be on larry king this Friday and will sing on the Today show next Thursday the 29th.
Idol's ratings prove that it is still a monster hit and the fact that they made had this matchup of the two best -- only made it for a must see event.

As for the ratings, being that the best person won for the first time since Carrie Underwood, I think this means that the show might spike up a bit in ratings next year
15% difference is what the politicians, press, punditocracy, and pollsters call a "double digit lead." That's not remotely close.

Agreed. This was a fabulous win, and it seems Cook is ready to skyrocket if he and the label make the right choices.
Season 5, while not producing a commercially successful winner, did have a very popular winner and cast, and bumped up the beginning of the following year. I'd imagine the same thing happening again leading out of this year.

The Price Is Right (Viewers: #2, 7.69 million; A18-49: #2, 1.8/ 5) Boston Legal (Viewers: #3, 6.37 million; A18-49: #3, 1.5/ 4)
Man oh man is that Boston Legal becoming more and more lead in dependant. Significantly less competition yet loses viewers. Kudos however to The Price Is Right once again.
Haha. Its lead in only dropped a good 2 million week to week and lost 50% in the demo. ABC's chimp-like scheduling has really taken its toll on the show.
Also, don't forget Wipeout, Million Dollar Password, Fear itself, Flashpoint, All the Cable Series are ramping up, plus the 2008-09 Season will start earlier than usual.
An I will be here EVERY DAY posting and having fun!

How did BL lose viewers? It doubled it's lead-in in viewers and increaed the demo by 50%. Now CSI: NY, there's a troubled show.
Me too. I don't expect much from Wipeout or Fear Itself, but I do think Million Dollar Passport, Flashpoint, and Swingtown sound fun. I'm also pumped for Saving Grace's return and Big Brother! The next few weeks though will be quiet save for the Mole returning June 2nd!

I agree. CSI:NY would be doing as low if not worse than BL had it had to contend with all the scheduling and lead in problems BL has had in the past 4 seasons. And what does the Price is Right have to do with anything?

So, the only people tuning in are the old farts that fall asleep to DWTS and leave the TV on?
Actually, I would say 12 million votes is a huge margin, considering the people who voted for Cook werent 15 year old girls who literally sat there for 4 hours and voted non-stop...
But, I could not disagree more about Archuleta. We saw what the producers want David Archuleta to become yesterday when the Jonas Brothers performed, and if anyone doesnt see that the difference between the 2 acts is like night and day than I just dont know what to say.
David Archuleta already won a talent competition and couldnt get a record deal out of that, so I am not so sure that he will do that much better this time.
And one other thing, the 2 best singers were not still in the competition last night, as Carly, Michael Johns and Syesha were all better singers than David Archuleta...
