Lost is also up from last season's spring premiere on Feb 7th which got 1.6m and a 6.4 in 18-49. Good news all around for ABC. As for last night's episode Jorge Garcia gave a great emmyworthy performance.

Well not so many liked it here.

The only person I see complaining is pisher and one other guy but pisher doesn't count. Overwhelming majority of critics loved it: http://www.metacritic.com/tv/shows/lostseasonfour where it is the best reviewed show of the season and fans http://darkufo.blogspot.com/2008/02/what-did-you-think-of-episode-1.html.Hate to burst your bubble but outside a couple of people here almost everyone loved the premiere.

And neither does Zitrone? Neither does Travis? You say I don't count, but it would seem your own enumerative powers leave something to be desired. Wink

Zitrone and I are not exactly two peas in a pod most of the time, you know. To put it mildly Wink

I've yet to talk to anybody I know who loved it. Nobody really hated it either, but there is a widespread feeling of ennui.

TV critics. We've covered this already. Meaningless.

Hate to break yours, but outside of the internet, Lost is a lot less popular than it used to be. As to how much people liked last night's premiere, the next few weeks will tell that tale. And you may end up liking it a lot less than I liked last night's premiere.

So it's not just me?

Judging by the ratings trends we discuss, it's not just here, either.

Fox Orders Second Run of Moment of Truth

Fox is adding a second run of Moment of Truth, ordering 13 more episodes of the lie-detector game show.

Per Daily Variety, for the next batch of shows, FOX exec Mike Darnell said he'd like the casting to rely more on people who shouldn't be lying - such as police officers and clergy and he also wants to encouage family and friends to be more confrontational and less shy. Plus, they want to add more surprise guests from contestants lives, like ex-spouses.

They'll fall to 4th place for the season by the end of February...with no help from Eli Stone, which will join the list of ABC's bombs this season.

samcat, your humor on this site exceeds even pisher's....

Good work, my friend. I can always count on one of your posts for a good laugh every day.

ABC might have had a good afternoon today. I think 16 million is exactly the number they thought they would achieve, and it was my prediction for the ratings. Pisher, do you actually think ABC believed it would improve the ratings from the third season premiere? I mean, it was getting 12 million in the spring, has a show ever improved its ratings in 60% within a couple of episodes?
Sorry, but Criminal Minds couldn't do it even when airing after the SuperBowl Frowner

About viewers getting fed up, I'm just sorry for them. It's ok if you have the concentration-span of a poodle and can't sit through a tv show that poses questions and holds the answers until an appropriate moment. But the thing is, you might be missing on a show that, after the third season, has made some critics dare to say it's the best ever.

So, the numbers are great but...who cares? Now we know we're going to get 48 episodes no matter what ratings it gets (which was an amazing decision)! I don't even care if I'm the only one watching.

Then, should ABC be ashamed of this premiere? Obviously! They should pick up the Simpsons, right? THOSE are great ratings Big Grin

Actually The Wire is still higher(and PD, a new series, just behind). But as mentioned before, critics were probably just happy to see any kind of new serialized material (and likewise, without the strike I probably wouldn't have watched Lost).

Next week should be intereting with the premier of Survivor. Survivor should post dominate 15 million and a 4.5 demo in the 8 hour. Lost will win the demo big, and viewers by less, at 9:00. The 10:00 hour should be up for grabs next week and the weeks that follow.

Is CBS out of new WAT spisodes?

Hey, hey, hey. Bash the troll but not the Simpsons. The Simpsons has made more money for FOX than LOST could possibly ever hope to make. That's what the business is about after all.

16 million not too bad for the lost premiere, i think last year it had a 17-19 million lead-in from that dancing show, its surprising it gets that much, from probably the most serialized show ever
