I can't speak for GG, but I think OTH is beginning to find it's groove again after a series of very dark episodes. I think the 'Nanny Carrie' episodes were turning some viewers away. The last 2 episodes have been much more true to form.
The CW is gonna have to find a way to keep those OTH kids for a 7th season.
Originally posted by robert:4. Once again great numbers for OTH. It trashed GG in ratings and it got a whopping 3.1 in 18-34 (male and female). That's the second place between all shows at 9pm in 18-34. Amazing
Trashed? You have a way with words, Robert. First, OTH is not "trashing" GG. Second, and more important- the shows are not in competition. In fact, they give the CW it's strongest night of television, and both are doing so much better than a year ago. Kudos to both programs.
Kudos to Boston Legal as well. Holding it's own in this, the final, and very strong season.
Well 500k more viewers, 0.5 more in 18-49, 1.0 more in 18-34 means trashing by CW standards. And all that with 10% of GG's promotion
And if One Tree Hill were on a different network than Gossip Girl, I might hold your "trashing" word with more merit. But, again, they are not in competition. CW is happy as punch with both, and the combination is a winning one for everyone involved. Only those who hate one or the other would slam the one they hate in favor of the other show- on the same network- on the same night.
Fox has also taken a noticeable hit on Monday with is combination of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (Viewers: #4, 5.34 million; A18-49: #4, 2.1/ 5), which the network may want to consider renewing for the full season,
Marc, I assume you meant the network might want to REconsider renewing SCC for the whole season?
And they really should--at the very least cut the order. This is beyond disastrous, when its only drama competition is the almost as pathetic Chuck.
You just can't take being provenwrong can you PISHER?
The renewel of SCC is a triumph for quality, serialized story telling. I'm so glad FOX Stood behind a show for once. Yeah, it doesn't pull in the ratings of watching a bunch of wash up stars and nobodies dancing around on the stage...but it tells an intricatly, detailed and woven story with a great cast.
Good for TERMINATOR and good for FOX!
A Sarah Palin fan talking about "quality". The Apocalypse is coming
C'Mon Robert...can we just stick to the ratings today and not turn this thread into another Anti-Sarah (highest ratings in 14 years on SNL) Rant?
Thank you. And I do agree with you on PRISON BREAK...it would do better at 8PM but FOX doesn't appear intrested in doing any juggling around.
OK, just one more political thing: SNL got that nnumber beacause people are still curious to see how stupid their possible VP is.
BTW hope Obama makes it alive untill the Election Day at least.

Actually i think those dark episodes helped OTH getting such good numbers at the start of the season. I know i'll not gonna watch the show if it gets stupidly soapy like it did last season. Didn't watch it then, i won't watch it this season
OTH started as a much more serious show than other teen soaps, it needs to stay this way
