-Yesterday’s Winners: The Moment of Truth (Fox), American Idol (Fox), Criminal Minds (CBS), CSI: NY (CBS)
-Yesterday’s Losers (Excluding Repeats): Wife Swap (ABC), Big Brother 9 (CBS), Supernanny (ABC), Men in Trees (ABC)

-Ratings Breakdown: Fox led the Wednesday troops care of American Idol, of course, which scored a typically potent 24.27 million viewers and a 9.1 rating/23 share among adults 18-49 from 9-10 p.m. To put this into perspective, the second most-watched show of the evening was CBS’ CSI: NY, with 12.84 million viewers at 10 p.m. Needless to say, American Idol stands head and shoulders above anything else. As for the departure of Ramiele Malubay, it was time. Now, life would really be good if overrated Jason Castro was next.
Fox also dominated the 8 p.m. hour with the season-finale of The Moment of Truth at 10.02 million viewers and a 4.1/12 among adults 18-49. What I really liked about The Moment of Truth last night was the update on former contestants -- very smart maneuver.
CBS started out slow, but built as the night progressed with its combination of Big Brother 9 (Viewers: #3, 6.04 million; A18-49: #2, 2.2/ 7 -- so long Joshuah!), and the return of original episodes of Criminal Minds (Viewers: #2, 12.81 million; A18-49: #2, 3.4/ 9), which held up well opposite American Idol, and the aforementioned CSI: NY (Viewers: #1, 12.84 million; A18-49: #1, 3.6/10).
Third overall in total viewers and fourth among adults 18-49 was NBC’s line-up of Deal or No Deal (Viewers: #2, 9.33 million; A18-49: #3t, 2.0/ 6), which worries me because I think the network is over-using it, a repeat of Law & Order: Criminal Intent (Viewers: #4, 5.29 million; A18-49: #4, 1.4/ 3), and a repeat of Law & Order (Viewers: #3, 6.52 million; A18-49: #3, 1.9/ 5). For my thoughts on NBC’s just announced 2008-09 schedule, listen to today’s PIPodcast at www.marcberman.tv. ABC had a particularly uneventful Wednesday as a result of Wife Swap (Viewers: #4, 5.71 million; A18-49: #3t, 2.0/ 6), Supernanny (Viewers: #3, 5.80 million; A18-49: #2, 2.3/ 6) and hiatus-bound Men in Trees (Viewers: #3, 5.50 million; A18-49: #3, 1.5/ 4). And the CW capped off the evening with the fading America’s Next Top Model (Viewers: #5, 4.08 million; A18-49: #5, 1.9/ 6), which declined by 1.14 million viewers and 27 percent among adults 18-49 from the year-ago telecast (Viewers: 5.22 million; A18-49: 2.6/ 8 on April 4, 2007), and a repeat of Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious (Viewers: #5, 1.62 million; A18-49: #5, 0.7/ 2).
Huh, well ANTM gained about 500,000 viewers from last week. Not a lot I know, but that is somthing, considering it has not hit the 4 million mark since it premiered.
Was Supernanny a repeat again? Because if not, it took a bit of a hit. I really can't see Men in Trees coming back next year.
Ratings for CM and CSI: NY aren't impressive, but CSI: NY is just a little under it's season average and right around where it was last year at this time. CM took a bigger hit compared to it's season ratings, but up against Idol, that's not a surprise.
It will be interesting to see what happens when both CSI: NY and L&O are showing originals.
Yes! BB beat DOND in the demo! Expected mediocre but still solid results for CM. CSI:NY's were particularly unimpressive because it faced virtually nothing in competition.
the return of original episodes of Criminal Minds (Viewers: #2, 12.81 million; A18-49: #2, 3.4/ 9), which held up well opposite American Idol, and the aforementioned CSI: NY (Viewers: #1, 12.84 million; A18-49: #1, 3.6/10).
Lower than I was expecting. I thought at least 14 million for each and thet 15 Million was very possible.
We'll se how the rest of the spring goes, but 13 million is still pretty good, in this day & age.
I agree. Could be slightly higher as its last new episode in January got around 18 mil but that was up against Grey's. This week there is little to no competition so 21-22 million is a possibility. Would have to check and see the last time it didn't go up against a new GA to see if it has approached those numbers this season.

My guess is around 20 million or so. The demo could be really anywhere.
Anybody else think that nbc's schedule is Boring? Once again, they go back to making the same mistakes of not putting law and order on wed and medium on mondays. The question is why do they really need a year round schedule -- it's just too confusing and ridiculous because schedules change.
Men in trees would just do better if it had a better lead in -- but someone at abc really hates the show.
I don't mind a year round schedule, but you don't have to publish the Summer of 2009 right now.

To be fair, until Dancing came back, Supernanny was one of the better lead-ins. The only higher options would have been post-Lost, which understandibly went to the new show or Sundays.
