A couple of years ago, Chris was doing fabulous on UPN. It debuted with over 7 million viewers, and did well in ratings its first season, the move to dead black hole CW is what killed it.

It is on Thursday this week. It is being preempted in its regular Sunday slot due to the Tony Awards.

Password is similar to the Power of Ten last summer. It will do okay in the summer against weak competition. If they put it on during the
Fall against tougher competition it gets killed.

Ok,

So when does it star on thursday.

At 8:00pm but only for this Thursday. The following Thursday, repeats of How I Met Your Mother and Rules of Engagement anchor the hour.

I very much agree that IN PLAIN SIGHT is weak.

The witness-protection angle isn't providing much entertainment and the attempts at cleverness and humor are not scoring.

The pilot was so-so and last night appeared to be a step backward.

I haven't seen anything on USA, but the Army Wives premiere had 4.5 million viewers (up 1 mill from the first season premiere and 400,000 from the finale).

TV Guide blurb here (I checked the archive for the 1st season premiere and finale numbers).

And last year's success of ARMY WIVES didn't stop the producers from freshening the 2nd season premiere up with a storytelling technique that is not necessarily unique but fits this show well and gave the ensemble cast some much needed focus.

It'll probably pick up a bit as the summer goes on, but decoupled from NCIS this show will eventually fade.

I've posted a time or two back during the upfronts that I think CBS has turned the 10pm Sunday slot into somewhat of a dump period. First SHARK and then THE UNIT airing out of COLD CASE? When WAT did ok but I think fell short of expectations two seasons ago I think they decided not to waste anything they valued in this hour, esp in the fall. Hence no newbie in this hour nor anything they might be seeking to give a boost to.

I agree, Bruce, last fall and this one, CBS is basically telling the show that it schedules at 10:00 on Sunday to crap or get off the pot. I totally expect there to be a new midseason show in that timeslot next spring. For The Unit to survive, it will have to maintain both its total viewer level and demos from last season on Sunday. If it can, CBS may use it to plug potential holes on Wednesday or Friday. If it doesn't it's history.

Also, one other thing. We all know that The Unit doesn't do well in repeats, but I really wonder how much of an audience it shares with Army Wives??? I know many people that watch both of them.

I actually find it quite enjoyable. Granted, I believe the root of my fond feelings towards this show may be summed as, well, Mary McCormack Wink. Also, fine, it's nothing like the sophistication and superb acting and writing of CI, but it is entertaining.
And speaking of CI, anyone else found the partnering of Lauren Velez and Dean Winters characters funny?

I watched Nashville Star tonight. Admittedly, I watched because Jewel makes me feel tingly all over. I am not even a Country Music fan, but it was entertaining for summer fair. There are some pretty good singers on this edition, IMO.

I actually thought that last night's episode of "In Plain Sight" was much better than the premiere. I'm really becoming a fan of the show and I'm hoping that it did not drop off too much this week.

7 millions? That was the first season. When UPN disappeared it was getting around 3 million and immediately after moving to CW was gettin 2.5 millions. It should've been canceled already

More to the point, the 7 million was for the first episode of EHC. It dove quickly after that and was a 4 million viewer show in its first season. the move to CW 'killed' EHC because it was moved off of Thursday night and nearly half the viewers did not follow it to Sunday or Monday.

I agree that EHC is pretty much dead and isn't going to turn around. CW probably should have renewed Aliens in America instead since that show still had growth potential and since it was certain to be a lower cost show to produce. I think EHC was renewed because CW wants to keep that production team happy. It is a relationship that CW might be able to use at some future point.

EHC debuted well but declined severely and put up only decent numbers at the end of its first season. Shifting the show around to Sunday in fall of 2006, then Monday in early 2007, and then Sunday again in fall 2007 pretty much killed its audience and the audience for the rest of CW's sitcoms.

Apparently CBS is still considering "The Tower". Showbuzz reported that they were filming part of the pilot recently. Story Here.
