The characters are just rip-offs of the characters from Fresh Prince, except even more one dimensional and cartoonish. My favorite is the nerdy son who always wears a bowtie, even when in his underwear. Oh, and it also has what I hope is the most offensive character on television today: a Chinese maid with an exaggerated accent that actually said "me so horny."

This show is lucky I love me some Flavor (from his Public Enemy days, not the recent VH1 garbage). I'll be tuning in to watch the train wreck every week. "Me and my kid brother both grew up. He was the good one, I was the screw up." Flav's still got it!

I don't have individual series numbers for the MyNetworkTV shows last night just yet, but a preliminary number for the night overall showed a significant growth over last week in viewers, up by 18%.

I should have checked first with exmalibu, for last nights ratings had already been posted.

This Week vs. Last Week

Under One Roof:
  • 1.270m viewers vs. 1.210m viewers (up 5%)
  • 0.5 A18-49 vs. 0.5 A18-49 (same)

The Best of In Living Color:
  • 1.120m viewers vs. 0.980m viewers (up 14%)
  • 0.5 A18-49 vs. 0.4 A18-49 (up 25%)

Breaking the Magicians Code vs. Masters of Illusion-Impossible Magic:
  • 1.430m viewers vs. 1.110m viewers (up 29%)
  • 0.5 A18-49 vs. 0.4 A18-49 (up 25%)

I watched last nights second episode of "Under One Roof", and I thought it was pretty similar to last week (just so-so, with potential to get better).

The best part of the episode was the blooper reel at the end of the episode...Mr. Flav does seem to have a difficult (and funny) time remembering his script.

Good to see the re-purposed "In Living Color" showed such good week-to-week growth...it was a very funny FOX skit-variety show, and it's nice to see variety back on prime-time television.

Tonight marks the very first night of the 2008 May Sweep, and that's why all of a sudden there are fresh episodes of so many excellent series up for offer.

For those interested in predicting the outcome of the May Sweep, be sure to visit the pifeedback folder set up to record your prediction:

Link me to the "May Sweep Prediction Game"

All you need to do is fill out 12 itty-bitty little numbers of how you think the Big Six English broadcasters will do…all of Madison Avenue awaits these numbers, as are affiliates across the country in the non-metered markets, who are poised to assess the Sweep period numbers as they help to set local rate cards.

How did the webs do last May? Let’s look at the scoresheet:

					nights	nights

The Class was cancelled because it performed so poorly. Honestly, King of the Hill SHOULD be cancelled as well. Meanwhile, How I Met Your Mother has performed with admirable strength while its detractors have failed repeatedly to grasp that fact. They failed to take notice with The Class or with The New Adventures of Old Christine sharing that hour with them. Now, finally, as BBT shares the hour, people have finally started to notice just how strong HIMYM is.

The Class had better numbers than BBT after the first of the year... BBT is completely overrated. The Class was a great show on the wrong network.

Brooke White is currently the "spokesperson" for VoteForTheWorst.com.

I don't expect Brooke to sail through to the finals because of this "endorsement" but this may be why she's lasting longer on the show than Michael Johns, Carly "$2-million-contract-in-2002" Smithson, and maybe eventually Syesha Mercado.

If Brooke goes, expect Jason to take the VoteForTheWorst reins and he may get a 1-week bump in votes.

By the way, Neil Diamond is making a comeback with his "Idol" appearance next week - about a decade ago, he performed at my college campus' outdoor celebration!

As a New York Yankee fan, I will NOT be looking forward to anyone singing "Sweet Caroline", which the recent anthem of the Boston Red Sox fans. However, New York Rangers fans have been singing that as well, so I'm torn! Wink

While nothing at this point should ever be a surprise to any of us, Carly leaving before Brooke White and Jason Castro is just an abomination. While I can sort of understand the giggly teens voting for John Travolta in dreadlocks, who the heck is supporting this Carly Simon wannabe? Folks…I just don’t get it. Do you?

I love the way you left out one very important fact. The Class aired its entire season with no DWTS on in the time slot. If you remember,
DWTS was on Tuesdays last season until March when The Class left the air. Ever since DWTS came into the time slot all the CBS sitcoms have gotten lower ratings. BBT improved on HIMYM when BBT was at 8:30 every week, while The Class never did. Both HIMYM and The Class had higher ratings before DWTS, and now both shows in the 8:00 time slot are lower with DWTS, but the 8:30 has built on the 8:00 for each of these two, while The Class never did.

The series thread notes that the writers are likely non-union Canadians.... cause nobody can write to that show's target demo like non-union Canadians.

The Canadian writers are not "non-union", they are just non-WGA. Canada, like Great Britain and Australia, all have their own writers unions, and they were not on strike.

Well said Twins12. The Class underperformed from day one.

That explains a lot. For a class I need to watch part of an episode here soon. Ugh- God help me.

So to all you people that think Back to You is really "failing", then why shouldn't Big Bang Theory be canceled? It only skews about 300,000 more viewers, so what's the difference?

Back to You is I think my favorite sitcom currently, along with How I Met Your Mother. The ratings will only get stronger, as the show gets more publicity and better treatment from Fox.

That's laughable. It is called competition. BBT is up against DWTS, Bones, DOND and GG. What is BTY up against ? BB, Wife Swap and DOND. Lets' see the show switch time slots for a couple of weeks and see which one gets higher ratings. Mondays at 8:00 has become the most competitive time slot on TV now, and BBT and HIMYM both come in second in the demo every week. Do you think BTY could do that against that kind of competition, and don't forget BTY is on at 8:30 while BBT is on at 8:00. Get real.

You still don't persuade me that Back to You isn't worthy of renewal. It may be that Big Bang Theory has tough competition, but let's be honest, Big Bang Theory has had more publicity, IMO. Also, Big Bang Theory didn't debut in the 8pm slot where Back to You was forced to.

Don't like my example? Fine, take this: Why is Simpsons or King of the Hill more worthy of renewal when they skew SMALLER numbers than Back to You, with about equal competition?

And please, don't tell me to "get real." Roll Eyes
