I think the reason why CBS did not stick a female skewing show on Tuesday at 10 is because of SVU. But for the record, not that they did not tinker with that idea before (Love Monkey).

Yep. Pretty much thought this was the case. Getting people to know what MNTV is might end up being the biggest challenge for that network. If I were them, I'd try to get a hold of the rights to the UPN name or maybe start calling itself Fox2.

I wouldn't be surprised if that were to happen soon.

I don't know about anyone else, but the name MyNetworkTV is a turn off on it's own, let alone the huge logo that takes up 1/4 of the screen, and the cheap graphics.

Gossip Girl will be broadcast-only (no streaming video at cw.com) for its last few original episodes of the season. It will also join the Easy-View Sunday schedule.

I agree, "MyNetworkTV" is not an APPEALING name in Television (in the web, yes).

They should call it "ETC: Entertainment Central" (I think there is already an ETC, try look it up in Wikipedia).

GG is hoping their ratings will increase since they can't watch it over the web. Although, I don't know how successful they will be since their videos are all over youtube.

i assume this is an experiment to see if ratings go up or down, i think it will have no effect, anyways you can find almost any show you miss online from alternate sources anyways

I doubt FOX will pay anything to CBS corp. to grab the UPN name. FOX2 may not be a bad idea, but may confuse people and hurt FOX1

My Network TV is not a very good name. Sounds more like a second or third tier cable net than a Broadcast network.

Perhaps a name like USB (United States Broadcasting) or ABN (American Broadcating Network)

USB would be a bad idea. I think of USB cables or a USB cord. Smiler

Does anyone, probably Dumont, know if MyNetworkTV has any name changes, or anything changes, in plan for the future? Considering the proof from last night this net is going to fail, I would assume so.

I wouldn't be so quick to write off MNTV just yet. Yes, Under One Roof didn't perform as well as MNTV would have liked, but they still have Smackdown coming in the fall which will increase its profile. The real test for MNTV is to come up with shows that can capitalize on its increased profile. MNTV has a better chance of long term survival than CW which is stuck on the same path.

Well, just because Smackdown! is moving to MNT doesn't mean it's an automatic life-saver. They have to promote it some how, and I don't think they have much money to do extensive promotion. I don't think the word will be known very well that it's on MNT, let alone if anyone even knows what channel MNT is for them.

I'm not sure why CW doesn't try to stop YouTube (unless CW is one of those networks that allready signed off on profit sharing with YouTube for each view). YouTube is very responsive in shutting down content if the copyright holder wants it taken down. Amazing Race Asia, for example, was wiped clean from their cite the day the overseas rebroadcasters (Sony deal?) decided they didn't want it there.
