This speculation on ABC picking up other networks shows is silly at this point.

They need to see how hard Scrubs will flop on their network first....they aren't going to "build" their comedy presence by becoming the place where sitcoms go to die. Can you imagine what a professional embarrassment that would be to whoever runs ABC's comedy department? Is it really that hard for them to find a comedy that will get higher than the 2.1 demo Christine gets?

Do they really want to pick up a show in its fifth season that stars two "old" ladies?

They need to develop shows similar to the ones that got them out of their post-Millionaire funk (My Wife & Kids, 8 Simple Rules, George Lopez, According To Jim, etc.) which at that time was a more dire situation than what they are facing now.

NBC should move 30 Rock. They are just wasting that timeslot. There's no synergy between it and The Office, the way there is between Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother.

Try 30 Rock on another night, and see what happens. If nothing good happens, give it one more season (to appease the critics), then dump it.

I think it would perform much better on a tuesday or wednesday

Didn't it originally start out as a Wednesday show?

Did Betty actually pop up a point in the demo? ABC held up better than I expected it too.

Travis, Private Practice was great this week. Definitely worth a look into.

Bones will be fine at 8.

CW shows had a solid week as did the Office. Earl was stronger than for most of the season and ER was stronger than in recent weeks. 30 Rock's retention was mediocre but it will make another season. Adios Kath and Kim.

CSI's demo has to be concerning to CBS. It was mostly old folks it looks like who stuck around week to week. 11th Hour's demo guarantees its not returning next year.

I'm kind of curious to see 1/2 hour breakdowns for Bones....I wonder how close Earl was to winning the demo.

it is one of the best utility players on TV and one of the rare procedurals outside of cbs that can perform in that 8pm hour with good demos.

They doubled up this week because they were going to premiere last week, but there was the Bush farewell address at the last minute. Then next week there's Idol. Then Bones is back for a week. Then it's the NAACP awards. Then Bones is back for 2 weeks. Then there's Idol. Not sure about the schedule after that. Any way you cut it... no es bueno por Bones.

Its sad that FOX only thinks about the overrated AI. If they keep this up FOX should be named the "AI station" instead

I think mushu is correct. Unless Miss Couric has a highly promotable interview or investigative piece in her primetime 'CBS Evening News' special, I expect her ratings will be as ghastly as they are at 6:30 pm.

CBS's motivation in doing this one-off in primetime is really puzzling to me. I suspect they have something up their sleeve...an interview with President Obama, perhaps?

I have been advocating that MyNetworkTV chase 'The Unit', at least through last seasons bubble-sitting period.

It would be an ideal fit for the network, being action adventure fare that appeals to the male demographic...perhaps for MyNetworkTV, they could drop the whole coffee klatch home front aspect of the show?

And given that its a FOX Television production, I'm sure MNT President Mr. Meidel could use his sharp negotiating skills to obtain a reduced license fee over what CBS is paying for the show.

MyNetworkTV picking up Mr. David Mamet's first tv series would be quite a coup, and it would be a perfect sympatico timeslot partner for the networks upcoming 'Dead Man Running' suspenser starring Mr. Michael Madsen currently being piloted by the producers of 'The Shield'.

Every year, the Friday before the week of upfronts, the networks should get together & announce all the shows that they have canceled and hold a draft.

The lowest rated network gets to pick what show they want to pick up first, then the second lowest rated and so on..... Big Grin

ABC News (Robin Roberts) already interviewed him on Tuesday night.

I read on Sitcoms Online that both Old Christine and Gary Unmarried were scheduled to be repeats on Wednesday. So, instead of two repeats, CBS will air the Katie Couric thing, then a repeat of Old Christine. I guess its not as bad I thought before. It's not like they were airing new episodes anyways.

I think UB should have been canceled instead of moving it to NY. They need something else in that slot.

If the problem is Shonda Rhimes can't handle 2 shows. Then why not just give her one show now and bring in a new Executive Producer for the other? Instead of ghosts and crossovers.

ABC looks desperate to save PP and pathetic with GA's writing. Something needs to give.

1) I think the 10:35pm start time on Sunday hurt the numbers more than anything. But it still drew a 4.6, that late at night. Thats a top 10 series in the demographic.
