I didn't mean just this week. I mean for the season. To me, they have the most uneven schedule. Most of their shows are either big hits or mostly misses. They have just a few middle of the road shows.

So much for ABC's collapse. They're doing incredibly well this week, although some of that has to do with a stronger than average Tuesday. Still, the regular Tuesday should pull a 2.0 at least and that would only drop them to CBS-levels, maybe even better. Unlike Fox and NBC which aren't benefiting over year-ago strike programming, CBS and ABC seem to be doing well, with ABC much stronger.
This isn't CBS we're talking about here. Comedies have a lower level to reach renewal. Failed miserably in today's world is According to Jim.

No that's Fox, who wins the season on one show alone.

Private Practice (58 minutes) - 9.487 million viewers - 6.3/11 HH - 3.6/10 A18-49 *not as big a drop in viewers as I expected from the 2 minute GA overrun... and PP held up in the demo! did anyone watch? is the episode worth watching? I know in two weeks the crossover with GA happens, so I figure it might be worth "doing homework"*
I agree. Survivor isn't going to move. Nor is NCIS/The Mentalist pairing. CBS is happy with its performance in those timeslots. NCIS Spinoff is a definate possibility Sundays at 9 PM.

I don't think ABC would be interested in GU. It's produced by CBS Paramount TV so they won't get the syndication money and GU wouldn't do any better than any comedies ABC could produce in house and keep the syndication money.

Since ABC is trying to get Old Christine. They can fall on getting Gary Unmarried if they don't get Christine, which is highly unlikely since CBS can get syndication money from Christine.
I agree with that, but ATJ was renewed strictly for syndication reasons. SW has a long way to go before hitting syndication. I say 50-50 for SW depending on development and how it performs in the spring.

Agreed, fair point, but ABC doesn't win the season, but it survives on those 4 or 5 shows.

If NCIS spinoff doesn't end up on Sundays, Wednesday at 8 PM is another logical choice. It's the best idea to fill in for the comedies if the block doesn't come back on Wednesdays.

No, GU is a joint venture between ABC and CBS Paramount, therefore ABC does have an interest in GU.

I wasn't aware it was a joint production. Even if it is 50/50, why would ABC nurture a show for three more seasons (possibly more depending on how many episodes they produce a season), just to hand over CBS half of the syndication money? They can develop their other comedies and keep it all (especially with ABC TV ramping up production and now one with ABC network). If they want to bring over a show, I think TNAOOC would be the one they would go after.

Whoever mentioned that MNTV should pick up The Unit had a good idea. Granted, it is much more expensive than the typical MNTV show and they are going to have to find ways to cut costs on the show, but MNTV needs to get into scripted series and it's easier to bring over something with an established fanbase than a brand new series.
Originally posted by Hunter: Well, at least Thursday still works for The CW. I actually expected more curious viewers to watch CSI in order to check out Laurence Fishburne. I guess we won't know for sure how well CSI will hold up without William Petersen till another couple of weeks.
I thought the show proceeded smoothly along. I do think, though, that the producers made a mistake by making Fisburne a newbie. You can't quite believe a guy with the reputation in the field he is supposed to have would have taken an entry-level position. They just should have "transferred him in" from Elsewhere and given him more expertise.
Bones should be at 12 million viewers and a 4.0 demo by now....why did they allow repeats to air when it was on Wednesdays just to double up on episodes now?

it is one of the best utility players on TV and one of the rare procedurals outside of cbs that can perform in that 8pm hour with good demos.

They doubled up this week because they were going to premiere last week, but there was the Bush farewell address at the last minute. Then next week there's Idol. Then Bones is back for a week. Then it's the NAACP awards. Then Bones is back for 2 weeks. Then there's Idol. Not sure about the schedule after that. Any way you cut it... no es bueno por Bones.
