Smallville isn't a good lead in for anyone. Those high ratings Supernatural got was when it followed a rerun of itself. They should have put Supernatural in the earlier timeslot and aired Reaper after Supernatural. That's your natural pairing. Smallville sucks as a leadin. The CW should have been testing an SN/RP pairing. I'm tired of Smallville sucking up all the air in the 7 p.m. timeslot, and it'll be there next year even though Lex, Lana, Lionel, and Chloe will be gone.
Supernatural got its audience back for the Christmas episode, which aired alone after reruns, and for Feburary sweeps. Apparently when it's off the air completely, it suffers. No doubt about that. 2.53 million is nothing to crow about, and I'm disappointed.

I'll never look at a melon baller the same way again. Eeeeeeeeewwwwww......
Yeah, Supernatural lost all the momentum it had when it ended February sweeps on that 3.22 million with a 1.4 and then CW took it off the air for a month in its infinite wisdom to try and save Reaper by airing it in the same timeslot. Way to go.
I understand why CW put Reaper in the timeslot, but it did hurt SPN's ratings. That and Ghostfacers. But at least it didn't go down, because last week wasn't the sharpest episode either. This one was great though, so people shoud be back next week!
Ew indeed! What did you think about the Bela storyline? I thought it was well done. I never hated her that much, but I won't miss her either!
I really hope next week we rise in the ratings, because it's a very important episode with a cliffhanger, and when season 4 starts it'd suck for viewers to change the channel for being confused.
I don't get why My Name Is Earl is on the loser's list? It was the #2 (yes distant #2) show in the demo for it's time slot. If it belongs there the Fox game shows and and UB do too.

and pigs will be learning to fly by next fall as well...
betty is toast...if she does not go up next week (survivor is not airing) then betty will never go up. greys as well will slide...sorry but all of their characters have already had sex with eachother...there is nothing else to this show...viewers have seen it all...

Chloe will be gone too? Good luck with that SV! I wish Reaper would lead into Supernatural next season. SPN can't be a lead in because of the gore I guess. They could stay on Thursdays, and Smallville could lead in one of the new shows on Tuesday! That is if SV's ratings don't go down horribly without Lex and the girls, which, I'm predicting they will.

where i live (los angeles) ugly betty's lead-in is jeopardy and wheel of fortune...the two strongest game shows by far...betty has a strong lead-in...
as far as comparing moonlight and betty...?
1. ghost whisperer is a decent lead-in but not a great one 2. betty does skew 10% better then moonlight in the demos 3. betty would probably do worse then moonlight if it was on fridays due to hut levels 4. moonlight would probably do better then betty due to stronger hut levels on thursdays

Lost is up from last week. It should be up again next week too with the Finale pt1.
Off Topic Slightly:
Upfronts Fall Into Place
Stability seems to be the key word for the broadcast networks' schedules this year, as things are beginning to come into focus five days before the annual upfront presentations.
ABC, which is returning the largest slate of freshman series and opted to produce most of its pilots after the upfronts, is expected to add only a couple of new series to its fall lineup.
Rumored as potential new series announcements are Ashton Kutcher's reality game "Opportunity Knocks," David E. Kelley's drama "Life on Mars" and the NBC import "Scrubs."
"Opportunity," from Katalyst and 3 Ball and hosted by 3 Balls' JD Roth, is a game show taken to the contestants' homes. The crew will arrive at a family's home with stacks of cash and a semi-truck loaded with plasma TVs, furniture and other items the family members can win by answering trivia questions about their lives and about items found in and around their home.
Kutcher and Roth are exec producing with Jason Goldberg, Karey Burke and Todd A. Nelson.
"Mars," which had been dormant since the pilot was shot last summer, has gained momentum in the past week and appears close to a series pickup, with "October Road" creators Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec and Scott Rosenberg -- all repped by Endeavor -- in talks to come on board as exec producers and ABC Studios in talks with 20th TV to join as a co-producer. However, sources indicated that no deals can be made without the blessing of Kelley, who created the U.S. version of the British series and owns the rights to it. Kelley is currently reevaluating his involvement in the project, starring Jason O'Mara as a 21st century cop transported to the 1970s, as it goes forward.
With so few new additions, ABC's schedule is expected to remain relatively intact, including a redo of the successful freshman Wednesday lineup of "Pushing Daisies," "Private Practice" and "Dirty Sexy Money" from the fall.
Over at Fox, J.J. Abrams "Fringe" looks like a lock after an enthusiastic response from the network's brass during the weekend. Fox already has given its blessing for staffing to begin on the Warner Bros. TV-produced sci-fi drama.
"Fringe," which has the scope of Abrams' "Lost," is rumored for a fall launch as a key weapon in Fox's effort to shake off its fourth-quarter ratings blues. It could be paired with "Prison Break" or "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles."
Fox's other high-profile new entry, Joss Whedon's "Dollhouse," which is still in production, is eyed for midseason. Meanwhile, the Bernie Mac starrer "Starting Under," which also was delivered to the network during the weekend, looks good to join Fox's multicamera comedies "Back to You" and " 'Til Death."
Also set to be hot at Fox are comedies "Outnumbered" and "Spaced."
Generating strong buzz at CBS are dramas "The Mentalist," "Eleventh Hour," "Mythological Ex" and the untitled Geena Davis project.
The biggest question marks at CBS are whether the network will make the summer moves of "Without a Trace" to 10 p.m. Tuesday and "Cold Case" to 10 p.m. Sunday permanent. That would open the desirable post-"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" spot for the launch of a new drama.
The CW is mulling keeping its new Monday lineup of "Gossip Girl" and "One Tree Hill" intact. The "Beverly Hills, 90210" spinoff is being considered as an 8 p.m. anchor Tuesday night, to be followed by one of its drama prospects, "How to Teach Filthy Rich Girls" or "Austin Golden Hour."
Wednesday is expected to be all reality, led by stalwart "America's Next Top Model," while Friday and Sunday would be dominated by repurposed series.

Glad Fringe has got a good response. Thats the show I'm looking forward to most.
Dollhouse & 11th Hour sound interesting too. No mention of The Oaks & Section 8.. I hope they both make it.

AND I have the feeling that ML would NOT be doing what it does numbers wise if it was on Thursday night, for example. I think some people just tune in Friday because there's nothing better on -- once there's actually decent options available, a good part of the audience will simply watch the alternatives instead.
With all due respect, that's a pile of BS. No one would follow an entire season of a show they have absolutely no interest in, no matter how bored they are. And most of the season, there were other options running against Moonlight, like FNL, WMC and heck, even Smackdown. And yet, Moonlight consistently scored at least 8 mil or higher, which is better than what UB manages to post these days. But I'm not surprised to see those naysayers carry on with utter hypocrisy, even after I exposed their true motivations and rendered their argumentation invalid.
Just a note: UB has beaten Moonlight every single week of the season. So please have some decency at least, just beacause you don't like other opinions it doesn't mean you can offend others.
this is the dumbest thing ive ever read on this site...

That's your opinion. I think Moonlight would do much worse against all the competition there is on Thursdays, and UB would do better wiyhot a big competition on fridays

You hit the nail on the head there. Moonlight would crash and burn not only on Thursdays, but probably if the networks actually go after it next year (like they should). Ugly Betty has to start off the night. Moonlight airs in the timeslot with the most possible viewers available during the evening (9pm) and LOSES its lead in EVERY week as well as the demo. 9pm shows are supposed to be the strongest. Not the weakest. And since when has Friday Night Lights, mischeduled on Fridays to begin with, Smackdown, and a low demo ranking WMC tough competition or even competition for that matter?
some ppl should not comment on things they know nothing of...

I guess I must be the lone 18-49 male viewer of 30 Rock. I think it is a funny show. Alec Baldwin and Matthew Brodderick (sorry if I spelled it wrong) were great together last night. I like the Office too, but I laugh out loud at 30 Rock. Am I crazy?

Any reason why WaT gained almost 2 million viewers and a half point in the demo from last week? I would have expected CSI to gain demo from the 2&1/2Men fans, but why is WaT up? I read on another forum that some markets had TV delays due to weather coverage. Any chance some of WaT's number is really from CSI?
