People are getting tired of contestants answering questions in front of 5th Graders and people singing bad karaoke. I would be shocked if FOX doesn't change up their Thursday schedule in the fall. A few weeks ago, Lyrics had Idol stunt casting and they couldn't keep that momentum going. quote: Originally posted by Zitrone: As usual, the crappy FOX game shows are not on the Losers list where they belong.

When you look at the history of Fox on Thursdays, they don't belong there. Also, they did as well as NBC's comedies.
Who cares about FOX's history? 2.0 in demo on a Thursday is horrible. NBC does 2.8 over 3 hours yet somehow almost all of its shows are 'Losers'. Those game shows should be canceled or moved to week-ends.

GA keeps being the sore loser it is (though there was one good scene last night, the one that involved Christina and her emotional turmoil). UB is getting the exact same numbers that Moonlight gets (but on a Thursday night, which is much worse since expectations are higher), yet I don't see all those naysayers who are blinded by their irrational hatred to Moonlight call for UB's cancellation...

Because they have improved on what FOX has had on Thursdays for the last 3-5 years. The shows had been pulling about 8 million each in the slots for most of the season, but are down, like almost everything else this spring. quote: Originally posted by Zitrone: As usual, the crappy FOX game shows are not on the Losers list where they belong.

It's funny when you look at ER's ratings... It's the only 10pm show that actually grew in audience not lost (that's largely thanks to 30 Rock not rating too well). Some gossip a day keeps the doctor away.

Lost is on ABC. Yet another episode full of recycled fantasy crap stolen from various movies. As for 30 Rock, the finale was great.

When you can have 20-25% of the total ratings going to time shifted/DVR numbers, then I cannot argue that live ratings is what counts. I remember a similar argument regarding retail sales vs. legal downloads. The latter was not included because, like your statement, the prior is what people felt "counted." Now, three years later, that has changed considerably. It's time for TV ratings to make the same leap.
Of course, Nielsen still does not count hotel viewership - a very interesting example of randomized viewing with an interesting demographic of people. Someone, please correct me if I am wrong with this statement. I hope I am!
The DVR numbers are not that impressive, only the most watched shows get above 1 million in DVR numbers (DVR outside the same day data). So the live numbers are what counts most

I'm sorry but UB is doing better in viewers and in demos. I don't call for the cancelation beacause the show is on ABC not on CBS. A 7.9 million show on ABC is good, on CBS is not. And UB does not have a lead-in

AND I have the feeling that ML would NOT be doing what it does numbers wise if it was on Thursday night, for example. I think some people just tune in Friday because there's nothing better on -- once there's actually decent options available, a good part of the audience will simply watch the alternatives instead.

2.0 is bad no matter what was on before. But here is the evolution from last year: -Percent Change From the Year-Ago Evening (Thursday, May 10, 2007) CW: no change, CBS: - 9, NBC: -15, ABC: -18, Fox: -29 So not only they did badly, but FOX has fallen more than all other networks.

With all due respect, that's a pile of BS. No one would follow an entire season of a show they have absolutely no interest in, no matter how bored they are. And most of the season, there were other options running against Moonlight, like FNL, WMC and heck, even Smackdown. And yet, Moonlight consistently scored at least 8 mil or higher, which is better than what UB manages to post these days. But I'm not surprised to see those naysayers carry on with utter hypocrisy, even after I exposed their true motivations and rendered their argumentation invalid.

Just a note: UB has beaten Moonlight every single week of the season. So please have some decency at least, just beacause you don't like other opinions it doesn't mean you can offend others.

I agree with Total. I rarely watch TV on friday nights but if a show is on that I like (such as FNL) and want to watch I will watch it or record it for later. Otherwise I turn the tv off or watch a movie or something I DVR'd earlier in the week. Theres enough options that I'm not going to sit through a show just because there's nothing better on. quote: Originally posted by total eclipse: quote: Originally posted by CanadianTVFan: quote: Originally posted by robert: quote: Originally posted by total eclipse: GA keeps being the sore loser it is (though there was one good scene last night, the one that involved Christina and her emotional turmoil). Aw, Marc, I thought you said you were going to stop bashing ER now that the end was a given? ER was NBC's most watched show of the night and it was NBC's 4th highest demo show for all of last week. NBC should be on their knees begging for more ER level rated shows since it would be a step up from most of what they have to offer.
