I'm sure it didn't hurt. From what I read, people who tuned into the show for the first time last night to see Tricia Helfer really liked what they saw, so I hope they got some new viewers out of the deal. I'm sure it also didn't hurt that it didn't have to compete with The OC.
Next week I know Supernatural's going to be preempted in Chicago, so that's going to bring the ratings down a bit...but according to tvguide.com Grey's is also a repeat next week, so that should help.

I have to say about Ugly Betty, did most people know it was a new episode last night? ABC needs to do a better job promoting that it is new especially when it is off for awhile. I loved Betty last night. 5th Grader did excellent for Thursday's without Idol. Keep it on Thursday's and find a show to pair it with. Marc I hated OR and missed Trees so much. Also people forgot to realize Shark was off the air which probably contributed to higher numbers for OR.

Not appointment viewing, but interesting enough that it's a good choice if there's nothing else on. Interesting that it skewed so much older than ER. Is that just the nature of the procedural?
Well, I'm not sure how much pull Jeff G. has with the younger set. ER does a decent job of always bringing in some new, young blood to its cast.
I usually agree with the TV critics but i think last night they were wrong all the way. Raines and OR were much better than the critics said while AB was even worse than Rules of Engagement.

Yeah, it was a solid episode last night. My first few picks for the "twist" were wrong.
Just curious TV-aholic, what were the projected numbers for 5th grader, I think this is a huge victory for Fox to beat UB. It'll take some viewers from Survivor next week I bet...what a competitive timeslot this is turning out to be!

Looks like those that watched Raines last night, liked it almost nothing lost at 10:30pm.
If you didn't see Raines last night, Check it out again tonight.

In fact, SN's # was higher than the last 10 episodes!. This should be a lock for a 3rd season, don't you think Marc?.

I'm sure she brought in quite a few. I'm hoping they'll stay.

I am sure they will. Last night's episode looked pretty good and next week looks even better. However the episode ended 5 minutes earlier as well. And I predict a rise in the final numbers.

I had the same thought. George certainly gets around - the nurse, Meredith, Callie, Izzie.
It's a wasted opportunity, really--not that gay actors should only play gay characters, but think of the story potential if George had been gay--and closeted, because of his family. Grey's is such an unselfconsciously diverse show, in every way but this.
I get it, though--a lot of female viewers LOVE George. They could love him as a gay man, I'm sure, but this makes it easier for them to fantasize.
There's a reason I'm foursquare behind gay marriage, you know.
Us straight guys can so totally do without the competition.
