-Ratings Breakdown: CBS stood well above the Saturday competition care of the ongoing NCAA Basketball Tournament, proving there is still indeed an audience for something of note on Saturday. NCAA Basketball: Second Round – Day 1 averaged a respectable 10.40 million viewers with a 3.8 rating/12 share in prime time. Comparably, that was on par with the match-ups from one year earlier.
NBC finished second overall in total viewers and fourth among adults 18-49 with its combination of Dateline (Viewers: #3, 5.36 million; A18-49: #4, 1.1/ 4), a repeat of Law & Order (Viewers: #3, 6.61 million) and a repeat of Law & Order: Criminal Intent (Viewers: #2, 7.44 million; A18-49: #2t, 2.0/ 6). Fox was third in total viewers and second overall in the demo courtesy of the perennial Cops (Viewers: #2, 5.56 million; A18-49: #2, 2.1/ 7) and America’s Most Wanted (Viewers: #2, 6.67 million; A18-49: #2, 2.3/ 8).
Rounding off Saturday was ABC special Celebrity A-List Bloopers (Viewers: #4, 4.75 million; A18-49: #3, 1.2/ 4), which landed on the D-list in the ratings, and repeat theatrical Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde (Viewers: #4, 5.26 million; A18-49: #3, 1.8/ 6 from 9-11 p.m.).
I still think that Law & Order: Criminal Intent could do good with originals on saturday since it's repeats keep on getting between 7-8 million which isn't much worse than what they are getting on Tuesday.
Also, ABC and NBC need to stop pulling in these very CW numbers. Refering to the demos.

Hey Marc, you think NBC should try moving new episodes of Law & Order: CI to Saturdays at 10 since it seems to do basically the same kind of numbers? It'd be nice if one of these networks stepped up and put on new episodes of a series on that night...

Why not? CI isn't doing that much better on Tuesdays. NBC could order a half season and try it out. Seems like it's going to be cancelled anyway, might as well see if it'll work.
No...that will never happen. Criminal Intent is doing okay for them on Tuesday. They would never air originals on Saturday.

a network could easly steal the ratings for Saturday nights by putting a new show on. NBC for example, instead of putting repeats all night, just put some Game Shows on there instead of Fridays.
Marc, I read in an earlier post, you stated B&S was new on April 1. Is DH new as well starting that evening as well, with its last stretch of new episodes?
back in the summer of 1991 CBS aired reruns of All in the Family, as a lead in to that Norman Lear bomb Sunday Dinner, Maybe they could program a clasic night with this lineup:
8:00 Mary Tyler Moore 8:30 Bob Newhart 9:00 All in the Family 9:30 The Jeffersons 10:00 The Carol Burnett Show

ABC is airing a recap episode of Desperate Housewives that night. New episodes begin Apr 8th.
