OK, pisher. They already have the excuse for the next PD episode. The preemption next week will kill its momentum....

I think that's being overpessimistic. It'd take more than two weeks without new PD eps to significantly stall its epic plunge.

What it'd take, actually, is wiping clean the memories of all the people who've seen the last five episodes.

Pushing Daisies aired at 8/7c, the time at which most parents take their kids out, and bring them back in before 9, which is why the later shows weren't affected as much as those on at 8/7pm. It was a school night.
Read through the posts made here. Alot of people couldn't watch due to already having plans, not because of lack of interest. Believe it or not, not everybodies lives revolve around a TV screen. Roll Eyes
So stop changing the subject, and adding a new witty comment to each of your posts. It is seriously annoying and doesn't make you clever.

Okay, so I have pisher the village idiot on ignore, and I have for a while, now I have to read everyones post about what an idiot he is. Not fair. This guy has been doing the same thing everyday since I started reading this site. He is just wasting space on here to get a reaction. He says he hates everything, doesnt watch anything, yet he can surely tell you how awful a show is???? I suggest you put him on ignore and you will enjoy the site much more. It's people like him that take the fun out of what we are all here for.

I could agree that part of this 7% household drop and 11% demo drop could have to do with Halloween. But couldn't part of it also be attributed to no World Series game being on last night vs. last week? The World Series had almost 17 million viewers and 5.6 demo rating last Wednesday. I would have to think that some of these viewers were ones that would not be watching TV had it not been for the baseball game. Meaning that this weeks drop is not as much to do with Halloween as the drops from last week would suggest.

If Halloween were known by the networks as a night a very large number of people were too preoccupied with other things to watch television, they'd avoid programming first-run episodes there--just as they do with Thanksgiving and Christmas.

They certainly wouldn't order up special Halloween episodes of scripted shows, to be aired ON Halloween.

I kind of enjoy reading his posts. It keeps things interesting. Actually posts like yours are the ones I would prefer to ignore.

Didn't you learn when you were growing up that if someone were bothering you the best thing to do is ignore them? Well, how come no one on this site takes that advice? If the pisher bothers you than just shut up and ignore him. But don't keep making these stupid posts saying you will ignore him when you are obviously not.

But I, for one, enjoy the 'ole pisher. Over the last few months he makes better contributions to the site than M.... oh, I should keep my mouth shut....

I absolutely agree with what this person just said about putting people on ignore if you can't bear to be disagreed with--well, that's what I'm getting out of it.

Even though writing a long angry post about me kind of negates his central message of ignoring me.

Actually over the last several years networks have been airing original episodes on Thanksgiving (is it still sweeps). I believe CBS and ABC will airing originals this year as well.

Then even Thanksgiving isn't that big of a deal. So Halloween sure as hell isn't.

ABC (households: 9.0/14, #2; adults 18-49: 4.7, #1) maintained its adults 18-49 dominance on Wednesday thanks to new episodes of "Dancing With the Stars" (households: 12.8/20, #1; adults 18-49: 4.9, #T3), "Lost" (households: 9.8/15, #4; adults 18-49: 6.7, #1) and "The Nine" (households: 4.6/8, #9; adults 18-49: 2.7, #T7).

And last night?

The Alphabet then offered up its mix of "Pushing Daisies" (households: 5.7/10, #5, half-hour: 1.79%; adults 18-49: 2.6, #T5, half-hour: 0.00%), "Private Practice" (households: 7.7/13, #3, half-hour: 5.33%; adults 18-49: 3.8, #1, half-hour: 5.41%) and "Dirty Sexy Money" (households: 5.9/10, #4, half-hour: -9.68%; adults 18-49: 2.9, #4, half-hour: -10.00%).

Oh yeah, those ABC execs are dancing on air reading last night's ratings. Onwards and downwards! Woo-hoo! Big Grin

Please note--The Nine actually had a HIGHER demo rating than PD did last night, in the 10pm timeslot last year.

So when does the second season start?

Once DWTS and LOST completed their fall runs, mid-November of last year, the entire night was a disaster for ABC. Moving forward, Thanksgiving onwards, ABC should be ahead of last years pace. DSM is already ahead of The Nine. I would think ABC is happy with the results their getting now.

Thanks, AL. You can call me pish. And you don't have to be my bodyguard for me to be your long lost pal. Was that too dated a ref? Smiler

We don't know what results they'll be getting further on up, so it's a bit premature to talk about how happy ABC will be with ratings they haven't seen yet. Roll Eyes
