Should we expect any announcements soon, from the nets, on how they will be handling the rest of the season?

Probably not tonight. I think, if there are any announcements to be made by the nets, it will be after they know exactly what the WGA's strike timeline is. Hard to say how they'll be affected unless they know when the strike starts.

I'm hoping the WGA is considerate enough to strike on Monday at 12:01am, giving productions, studios, and networks a weekend to work and hopefully squeak an extra producible script out. It would be in good faith, IMHO.

I'm watching CSI: on CBS right now, and the screen went black and at the corner it says "NO VIDEO INPUT" in white and a counter went on for 30 seconds. What's with that?

It begins. I just posted this to Heroes folder:

I've heard that NBC has shut down production on Heroes. They were in the middle of shooting Episodes 13 and 14. They were asked to reshoot the ending to Episode 11 (which ends the "Generations" volume) to be a season-ender.

Dude.

So Travis, it's official? The writers are now on strike? Thanks.

Also, I thought they could continue to shoot the episodes that had the finished scripts, but once the strike happened, they could not change any of the writing? Is that not correct?

Peace!!

I think it happened before Heroes. When I read that New Amsterdam, Jezebel James, and Canterbury's Law closed down their production, I knew that a strike was coming. I should have taped that last episode of K-Ville. Frowner

Look on the bright side, Travis. All 13 episodes of "Cavemen" and "Crapoolers" have already been written.

"Better Off Ted," Wednesdays at some time or another at some point or another in the near future. Because we can't all live in mansions and not ever work like the people on "Modern Family."

I'm pretty sure he is, too. Shrug!

Its all good, I understand now.

Thanks again for not giving up on me and continuing to prove the data set. I think ratings in general ridiculous. This is a GREAT show and I love my Cast and Crew, I hate the fact we could be done, and I may be out of work for a Loooooong (sp) time.

The show has done ok, it deserves a full season and beyond, but this will not be something I can settle. Travis what does the shire say?

Really you think Dirty Sexy Money will be gone before Big Shots? That really sucks, I actually enjoy this show... Even though Pushing Daisies is declining and likely to continue there's no hope for DSM? Like whats the word on set since you're kind of an insider...

Guys the show is fine, but no way to continue during a strike.

We are done through episode 110 and likely have some of 111 and 112 but the Network makes changes daily , without writers the changes are not possible..Production stops likely with the completion of 110. Show is fine other than the collapse of Hollywood.

Once again please , the ratings discussion is certainly muted under the current state of failed mediation.

Our writers and producers are one and the same, its a terrible situation and many folks could be sitting home on Monday.

And Deadline Hollywood Daily is saying the Screen Actors Guild people will walk the picket lines with the writers (but not officially strike, since their contract doesn't run out until June next year)...

I think the networks are thinking this is gonna be a real long one...but the question is, who's gonna blink first? (apparently the 1988 strike was settled because the writers blinked- some of the bigger writers threatened to jump the picket line if they didn't settle).

Oh well, at least The Amazing Race is coming back Sunday, and this probably means it will get a quick pickup for a spring run as well (I feel for the writers striking of course, but TAR is my favorite program)

Close.

Adlibbing is allowed, and a producers or director can change lines, if (and this is a big one) if they aren't a SAG member. And in television, most of the producers are writers.

So it really does kill the possability of doing anything but filming episodes that were already finished our very close to it.
