Wow, dude, you really do hate this show...what happened? Did someone break up with you while it was on in the background?
Geez, I can't even count how many different shows people have plugged that tired joke into, because their whole life revolves around a TV show I'm dissing, and they don't have any arguments to muster in its defense.
Considering that VM is more popular in urban markets the preemption could actually account for up to roughly 200.000 viewers. So without the preemption VM would have gotten something around 2.1 million viewers...not great either.
No, and it could still have gone below 2mil with L.A. in the mix.
How's it going to do once it doesn't have GG as a lead-in? Three more VM standalones, right? Only ONE more GG ep. Thankfully.
As for the future of George Lopez, is there any point of renewing the comedy after falling short of 5-million viewers last night?
Right on par with what it has been doing and I think the viewership is slightly up. Has anyone even seen a preview or ad for GLo in the past few weeks? Either way, it was a solid finale and will leave me happy if it ends.
It was a great one last night. I think it would be a better 9PM show. Dancing results at 8 followed by Boston Legal then one of the new hours at 10.

It'll be interesting to see where BL ends up next season. Even though Dancing is a great lead in, it hasn't helped it's ratings. Earlier in the year when Housewives was given as a lead in, BL rocked up to 13+. I think a scripted show is a better lead in for BL. For some reason shows that follow reality shows have a hard time retaining the audience. It took House a few cycles to catch on like it does now. Maybe if they keep BL paired with Dancing, people will get used to it and start watching. Not sure.

I predict low 2 millions for the 2 hour "finale" of the now 3rd reincarnation of this series. Remember, it was completely serialized, then aired in the arcs, and now is the stand alones. Is there really need for the FBI edition if the 3 previous ones have failed?

I didn't think of that, I was just thinking of the content of the show but desertion due to uncertainty is also a likely possibility.

I don't think it is the lack of 'big mystery' or 'story arc'. I think it is just a case of 'rats deserting a sinking ship'. Once viewers hear that a show is probably going to be cancelled they don't want to 'invest anymore time in it'. So, when a show is hinted for cancellation, it begins to hurt ratings as viewers look for something else to 'bond' with. If the show is doing a big 'goodbye sendoff' at the end, everyone will tune in, but before that goodbye arc, people tune out in increasing numbers.

Stating that something is LOUSY (one word) is not an argument. And exactly because it is not, there is no need to muster anything.
Oh, and accusing someone of being a TV addict in THIS forum is at least strange..after all, who follows daily ratings if not the TV addict?
Anyway, no offense meant, I just usually reserve my "it's lousy and should be terminated" type of comments because it's the easiest to do and adds nothing to any sensible conversation.

No, but that never stopped them before.
futoncritic has the HH rating at 1.2, and that's usually the final HH number as well.
Medialife (which only reports the demo #'s) has VM at 0.9 for A18-49.
For all the moaning about the fire preemption, VM had a stronger lead-in from GG in most of the country, and should have gained from last week, as GG did, even without L.A.
The last two eps will air without first-run GG as a lead-in.
As much as I love Boston Legal, I think abc would be wise to try out a new show in that time slot next fall. I feel now would be the time to be aggressive in that time period considering that there is no clear winner at 10 amongst the networks. The ball is definitely in abc's court. I just read on Ausiello report that abc may be moving Ugly Betty to Sun at 8. I think that is a wonderful idea considering that Ex. makeover is starting to show its age, also, this would allow abc to air its much talked about Pushing Daisies on Thurs. at 8. I would pair BL with Men in trees on Fri nights. Would do you think?

That's possible. Frankly, as one may have noticed, I really don't care about this show or what the CW has done. Next season, I'll only watch one or two shows on the network. I won't be sad to see it close shop at the end of the year if that indeed happens.

BL is too expensive to be wasted on a Friday. It simply lacks a compatible lead in and Men in Trees is not it.
