-Yesterday’s Winners: Dancing With the Stars (ABC), Two and a Half Men (CBS), The King of Queens (CBS), Heroes (NBC), CSI: Miami (CBS)
-Yesterday’s Losers (excluding repeats): How I Met Your Mother (CBS), Everybody Hates Chris (CW), The New Adventures of Old Christine (CBS), All of Us (CW), The Real Wedding Crashers (NBC)
----------
-Ratings Breakdown: Led by Dancing With the Stars, ABC cha-cha-ed its way to Monday victory in total viewers, while tying CBS for first among key adults 18-49. NBC and Fox shared for the No. three and four spots, respectively, followed by distant The CW.
Dancing With the Stars kicked-off the evening for ABC, with 19.10 million viewers and a 4.8 rating/14 share among adults 18-49 from 8-9:30 p.m. Here is the half hour breakdown:
Second behind Dancing With the Stars in the 8 p.m. hour was the 100th episode of NBC’s Deal or No Deal, at a below-average 10.24 million viewers and a 3.1/ 9 among adults 18-49. Are viewers beginning to tire of the Howie Mandel hosted game show?
Also in the 8-9 p.m. time period were CBS comedies How I Met Your Mother (Viewers: #3, 7.86 million; A18-49: #2, 3.0/10) and the season (or series) finale of The New Adventures of Old Christine (Viewers: #4, 7.84 million; A18-49: #4, 2.8/ 8), a repeat of Fox’s House (Viewers: #4, 7.36 million; A18-49: #4, 2.7/ 8), and The CW’s Everybody Hates Chris (Viewers: #5, 2.58 million; A18-49: #5, 1.0/ 3) and All of Us (Viewers: #5, 2.44 million; A18-49: #5, 1.0/ 3). Although my personal preference for The New Adventures of Old Christine is to move it back to 9:30 p.m. out of Two and a Half Men, the surprise success of recent occupant Rules of Engagement means that Christine’s only hope for a return on CBS is if the network expands to another night of comedies. Then again, if the overrated How I Met Your Mother returns, why shouldn’t Old Christine?
The final half-hour of Dancing With the Stars coupled with the first half-hour of another 90-minute edition of The Bachelor: An Officer and a Gentleman gave ABC an average of 16.23 million viewers (#1) and a 4.5/11 among adults 18-49 (#3) from 9-10 p.m. Second overall was CBS’ combination of Two and a Half Men (Viewers: #2, 13.18 million; A18-49: #3, 4.6/12) and the second-to-last episode of The King of Queens (Viewers: #1, 13.38 million; A18-49: #2, 4.5/11). A below-average Heroes on NBC still led the hour among adults 18-49 (5.0/12), with a third-place finish in total viewers (11.08 million). Fox’s 24 ranked fourth at a still comfortable 10.88 million viewers and a 4.0/10 in the demo.
Over at The CW, the one-hour season (or series) finale of Girlfriends trailed with 2.88 million viewers and a 1.3/ 3 among adults 18-49. One year earlier the expanded season-finale of Girlfriends on UPN averaged 3.47 million viewers and a 1.7/ 4 among adults 18-49, based on the final nationals. Given the many other weaknesses on The CW, chances are we will see veteran Girlfriends back for an eighth season.
First at 10 p.m., of course, was CBS’ CSI: Miami (Viewers: 16.95; A18-49: 5.3/14), which built out of lead-in The King of Queens by a hefty 3.57 million viewers and 18 percent among adults 18-49. Next was the 10-11 p.m. portion of ABC’s The Bachelor: An Officer and a Gentleman (Viewers: 10.37 million; A18-49: 3.9/10), followed by week three of NBC’s The Real Wedding Crashers at a series-low 5.09 million viewers and a 2.4/ 6 in the demo. Overall, The Bachelor averaged 10.73 million viewers and a 3.8/10 among adults 18-49 from 9:30-11 p.m.
Not that it has to be either/or, but HIMYM has never been given the lead-in boost of 2.5 Men, and it's a self-starter (if not a huge hit)... it outperformed Christine in the demo.
As for Deal or No Deal, I don't think viewers are necessarily tiring of it (especially since NBC isn't shoving it down our throats 3 nights a week anymore), but it has the same core audience as DWTS, and the competition reality show is much more Must See Right Now TV than DOND.

Are viewers beginning to tire of the Howie Mandel hosted game show?
Hopefully. I use to like this show until it became monotonous when it was on 3 times a week for a while. Plus I realized it would make a really good HALF HOUR show if they cut out brininging the inane family members that are either aping on the contestants or tying to talk them out of it. That part of the show is just filler and slows down the whole pace.
Hey Marc, I also loved how Dancing cha-cha'd its way to the top. Hopefully people will be satisfied with that reference, instead of the usual'danced its way to the top', you know how they love to complain here. I cant believe the low numbers for Heroes!(ouch)

Marc, you finally change the pun and you pick the WRONG DANCE!!!!! Nobody danced the cha-cha last night. Laila did the Waltz/Jive, Billy Ray did the Foxtrot/Mambo, Joey did the Waltz/Mambo, Apollo did the Tango/Paso Doble and Ian did the Foxtrot/Rumba.
Now that Medium has been renewed, can we please put it where it belongs, after Heroes??? I'm running out of episodes of House Hunters to watch at 10. I suppose I could catch up on my reading.

well what else was the CW going to keep their monday night comedy doesnt work
the CW is really in a big mess right now im interested what the heck are they going to do with their line up for the 07-08 lineup
same here
Maybe they should have given RUNAWAY more of chance to find an audience. Arn't these numbers for the comedies at the very least matching the prematurely aborted thriller/family drama?
Heroes is following Jerico pattern. It's clear that viewers of shows with ongoing SL (Lost, DH, Jerico, 24, Heroes, etc.) are going to stray unless they are shown in blocks. ABC is making the right move with Lost. Tough to build momentum in fits and starts.
