-Adults 18-49: ABC: 1.5 rating/5 share, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW: 1.4/ 5 each
--------------------
Note: Any prior rating results are based on the final nationals. Since the level of DVR penetration has increased from 13 percent at this same point last year to approximately 23 percent at present, the overall results may be negatively impacted.
----------
-Friday’s Winners: Nothing
-Disappointing: Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader (Fox), Don’t Forget the Lyrics (Fox) -- Fox may want to consider moving both hours back to Thursday.
-Friday’s Losers (excluding repeats): America’s Toughest Jobs (NBC), 20/20 (ABC)
----------
-Ratings Breakdown: There was little of note on this lackluster Friday, with CBS the most-watched network (with under 6 million viewers) and ABC No. 1 among adults 18-49, with a mere 1.5 rating/5 share in the demo. In season-premiere news, ABC’s veteran 20/20 opened with a soggy 5.74 million viewers (#3) and a 1.6/ 5 among adults 18-49 (#2) at 10 p.m. despite the well publicized interview with Alec Baldwin. All things considered, the profusely sweating Baldwin would have been better off keeping his mouth shut.
Earlier in the evening on ABC were back-to-back repeats of America’s Funniest Home Videos at an average 5.45 million viewers and a 1.5/ 6 among adults 18-49 from 8-10 p.m.
CBS opened the night with a repeat of Ghost Whisperer (Viewers: #2, 5.32 million; A18-49: #1t, 1.4/ 5 at 8 p.m.), followed by two repeat episodes of Numb3rs as follows:
Numb3rs R (CBS) 9:00 p.m. – Viewers: 6.10 million (#1), A18-49: 1.3/ 4 (#4t) 10:00 p.m. – Viewers: 6.29 million (#1), A18-49: 1.5/ 5 (#3)
Look for the debut of dramedy The Ex List out of the season-premiere of Ghost Whisperer (and into the season-premiere of Numb3rs) on Oct. 3.
Fox’s non-scripted combination of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader and Don’t Forget the Lyrics, meanwhile, left little to be desired (and may not be a solid as Mr. TV predicted). Here were the results:
Fox/Friday 8:00 p.m. – Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? Viewers: 5.93 million (#1), A18-49: 1.3/ 5 (#3t)
9:00 p.m. - Don’t Forget the Lyrics Viewers: 5.31 million (#2), A18-49: 1.5/ 5 (#2)
Over at NBC, recently introduced reality/competition America’s Toughest Jobs moved to Friday with a mere (and last-place) 3.34 million viewers and a 1.1/ 4 among adults 18-49 at 8 p.m. All together now: Tick, tock…the cancellation clock is ticking. That led into another two-hour edition of Dateline (just what we needed!) at 5.25 million viewers and a 1.4/ 5 in the demo from 9-11 p.m. Growth out of America’s Toughest Jobs kept Dateline off the loser’s list.
The CW’s soon-to-relocate Friday Night Smackdown! capped off the evening with a still healthy 4.39 million viewers (#5) and a 1.4/ 5 among adults 18-49 (#2t) from 8-10 p.m. Although the network has gained some traction among target females earlier in the week, the upcoming Friday night combination of Everybody Hates Chris, The Game and an encore telecast of America’s Next Top Model is expected to be a disaster.

FOX is DOA Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
I thought FOX would have a great year. Was I way off or what? FOX could move 5th Grader and Lyrics to Thursdays, but I think Kitchen Nightmares works well there. It just has Hole in the Wall as a lead in. So maybe like this:
Thursday: 8:00 - 5th Grader 9:00 - Kitchen Nightmares Friday: 8:00 - Hole in the Wall 9:00 - Lyrics
If FOX is having bad results like this, I wonder if ABC will follow on the same track with Wife Swap and Supernanny.
Speaking of ABC, what happened with 20/20? Oh yeah Alec Baldwin. He brings bad ratings to 20/20 and 30 Rock. Maybe if he was off of 30 Rock, it would have better ratings?

Good golly, Miss Molly, talk about a five-way fight for first place! Who will finish first on Friday in the finals? Pre-emptions may tell the story.
And in two weeks, MyNetworkTV will be joining the Friday-fiveway-fight-for-first when it takes over 'WWE Friday Night Smackdown'.
By the way, after five nights of Week 51, The CW and ABC are tied for fourth place in A18-49. ABC will win, of course, by virtue of 'ESPN Saturday Night College Football' and 'The Emmy Awards', but it is a testament to The CW's strong new Monday to Thursday schedule together with the wisdom of opening early this fall that after five nights The CW is in a dead heat with one of the Original Three networks.
Week 51, Monday to Friday averages: (finals, except for Friday night) Rank. Network A18-49 (viewers in millions) ========================================== 1. FOX 2.78 (7.588) 2. NBC 2.10 (6.730) 3. CBS 1.98 (7.508) 4. CW 1.62 (3.608) 5. ABC 1.60 (5.108) 6. MNT 0.43 (1.133) -> 4 nights only
Well.. FOX is DOA Mondays, Tuesdays (minus Bones), Thursdays and Fridays.
I believe you mean Wednesdays minus Bones, not Tuesday.

Well, by then, CBS will easily win the night with an 8-10 million average, depending on how strong Ex-List will be.
NBC should come in second with FOX taking third, while ABC and MyTV fighting it out for 4th.
