Obveeus is right, but Twins12 is correct in that BBT is doing around the same as/slightly better than HIMYM was doing last year. While a year ago this week and next week were both reruns, the week after (4/30), HIMYM got 7.29 million viewers and 2.8/ 9 in the demo (#3 on both counts).

Okay, you guys have sold me on this being a repeat, but I just want to say that we just have to lower our expectations for all early shows this time of year. I think everyone is disappointed with BBT and HIMYM's performance yesterday. I think with maybe the most competitive time period all week of DWTS, Bones, DOND, BBT/HIMY and Gossip Girl coming with BBT and HIMYM coming in second in the demos, although the numbers are not that high, they are doing fine. We will not see really high demos for any of these shows in this time period. There is too much competition between all the shows in this time period and too much daylight savings time for really great demos for any of them.

"...well at all" seems a bit of a reach. And is comparing a first time blast into a time period with a show that has owned the period useful?

Hey Zedman2... Can I assume that those Hollywood Reporter 'Dialogs' won't come out for NBC and MNTV since those are the two networks that failed to have an Upfront this year?

Blue State: OMFG Red State: OMG Now, each person can figure out what state they live in simply by watching a CW commercial.
I feel sorry for the Arkansans in the Texarkana area who now think they're in a red state. Not that this state matters, the other ones get more votes.

Again, I think Bones did well considering the time of year, and the time slot. This time slot has so much competition it is ridiculous. I mean DWTS, DOND, Bones, BBT/HIMYM and even the CW will chime in with Gossip Girl next week. I really can't think of a more competitive time slot all week. I think these shows will keep each other all with fairly low demos by spreading the younger crowd around, and don't forget 8:00 during daylight savings time will also limit the ratings of all these shows. I just think we have to lower expectations.

Why? Did the people in Arkansas not already know they were in a red state?

Mr. Meidel, President of MyNetworkTV, had a fascinating dialogue with Mr. Chris Pursell of tvweek.com which provides much more in-depth information and perspective than the HR 'Dialogs': Meidel: MyNet on Course for Upfront

Wait. Is this the same Arkansas where Mike Huckabee is from? You know, the Republican who worked with a Democratic majority legislature? And the state where Bill Clinton is from? Not surprised though. I also got the OMG here in Iowa, a very purple state.

That reads like an interview with a used car salesman. he tlaks aobut how perfect Smackdown is becasue it goes for their target 18-49 demo? Smackdown is not strong in that demo. Why can't he just be honest and say they are happy to be signing on a show that gets twice the ratings of their very best episodes of their very best shows? He also mentions liking 'scripted'...which I guess explains why they don't have anything on the air that is scripted. Under One Roof 'will be'...but is a half hour per week really an indication that MNTV has any ability to do 'scripted'?
